We had an amazing experience working with Tayllen from Authors Interior. From our very first meeting and throughout our engagement with Authors on works for our new place, Tayllen was not only professional and knowledgeable, but was also a very personable lady to work with. We had a vision for an open concept home that was different from a usual condo/HDB layout, and had struggled to find an ID who could help us bring it to life. Tayllen was the only ID we spoke to who bothered to understand our lifestyle and living habits, and by doing so, helped us ensure that our beautiful home was also truly functional and met our daily needs. We had some less conventional design requests and she’d given us her honest and professional opinion on whether certain design or materials may not be optimal for the house, but was always able to provide great alternatives or workarounds. Due to covid, renovation works were more complicated due to manpower restrictions and scheduling. But Tayllen was super proactive in providing us regular updates on our works and a timely completion of our reno. Even after moving in, she’s been helping to us with some additional works around our home. Thanks Tayllen for helping to bring our dream home to life!

We engaged Tayllen, Brandon and team from Authors Interior and Styling to renovate our first home and were really impressed by the service and care that we received! We came across Authors on Instagram and noticed that they had a great profile of various renovation projects, several of which suited the mid-century modern and sleek aesthetic we were keen on. In particular the play of different wood laminates and colours in their past projects stood out to us. What also caught our eye was the clean finishing and good quality workmanship that we saw, something we confirmed when we visited the showroom and saw samples of their own work in real life (e.g. carpentry and flooring). Tayllen was matched to us shortly after we sent in an enquiry for quotation. Even though the timeline for us to get our keys was uncertain, Tayllen was really accommodating and helped us to make sense of how we could pace our renovation. She listens carefully to what we prefer and how we imagine ourselves using the space, and then shares her professional perspective and opinion. She always takes care to share the cost implications and practicality considerations at every step of the way too. All of these ensured that we made informed choices in our renovation that led to a clean and functional design for our home. When Tayllen had to be away on maternity leave, she made sure to give us plenty of advance notice and the Authors team brought in Brandon to help in her absence. We are very grateful that Brandon took care of our project very seamlessly and professionally, from confirmation of works to be done, helping us with our defects checks voluntarily, seeing through the scheduling and renovation coordination amidst a very tight schedule. Brandon took time to explain site constraints and considerations to us when proceeding with various stages of the renovation works and always made sure we were comfortable before proceeding. Both Brandon and Tayllen were very responsive throughout our time working with the Authors team and made us feel very special as new homeowners! Besides the IDs, the team of contractors that works with Authors is also a really amazing one - we really appreciated the good quality of work and finishing throughout different trades - and the workers often came back of their own accord to touch up / finish up work to ensure we could have our home in the best condition. This made the final stages of renovation relatively stress free as we did not need to fret over poor implementation or multiple significant defects. Overall we highly recommend team Authors and of course Tayllen and Brandon. It was a great pleasure and our privilege to get to work with you in making our first home a reality ! :)

Two months staying in our new home, it feels like a dream. Waking up to a space that we dreamt for, coming back and finally can say it feels like home, our home. If you’re looking to build your dream home or upgrading your living space hassle free, we will highly recommend you to go for Julie! She is meticulous, creative and really puts in effort to understand us first before giving any recommendations. Julie accommodated to our budget, was extremely patient and answered all our queries. Special mention on one incident, we bought a mirror from taobao for our toilet wall. But the quality wasn’t very good and on one occasion, it dropped. Just happened Julie came over to oversee the rectification works, she immediately ask her contractor to help us fix the mirror without us requesting for it. She would accommodate to all our issue and give us solutions. We are both grateful to have Julie to help us with our reno so we are able to move in to our first home!

We were impressed by the professionalism of Julie from the first meet up. She is able to give suggestions and ideas that are workable. She will also advise us more than one solution instead of insisting for us to do it her way. We heard so many horror stories of IDs and renovations but we were lucky to have Julie help us settle our nest. We're grateful for her with all the guidance through the whole renovation process and always keeping us updated. She is trustable and quality of work is good.

My husband and I had engaged Brandon to be our ID through a mutual friend's recommendation, and we were extremely glad in doing so. Brandon has been nothing short of professional, passionate, friendly and great with his design ideas and recommendations. He will always point out several factors for us to consider in terms of colour scheme, design detailing, function etc and since this was our first home renovation, we were thankful for all the little tips he brought forth. We did quite a lot of carpentry since it’s a resale condo, and the overall workmanship work was good, just some minor touch ups here and there. After living in this space for over a month, it really feels like home now, and we love the comfort it brings us.

My husband and I approached Authors several times along with other firms in our initial search for an ID. We found ourselves coming back to Authors each time, as their style matched what we had in mind. We're thankful to have had Julie as our ID. She was very responsive and extremely patient with us in answering our gazillion queries (as this was our first renovation). We did the sourcing for the furniture and fittings on our own and Julie was always available to advise if our choices were in line with the general theme/look of our home. We were both very impressed with Julie’s professionalism (even more so after having heard of horror stories about other IDs). The entire renovation went smoothly and handover was as scheduled. Special mention to Authors' contractors, who were very hardworking and friendly. They would accommodate to some of our on the spot requests and would even give us suggestions at times. Our family and friends were very much impressed with the look, quality and workmanship of our home. All in all a well managed project by Julie that made it an enjoyable experience for us, for our first home! NGL, 10/10 would definitely recommend!

Julie and her team including Tayllen from Authors Interior had demonstrated utmost professionalism in delivering the best design and services. Notwithstanding our inexperience in many aspects on renovation as first-time homeowner, the process from planning to execution was extremely smooth and pleasant. This was only possible because Julie exhibited a keen sense of design and is always well prepared with various recommendations for our discussions based on our inputs. Not only was the project completed on schedule, the workmanship is impeccable. The outcome driven by Julie and her team had far exceeded our expectations. I applaud the excellent work done and would like to express our thanks again to the team.

Author Interior caught our eyes when we were looking for ID firms as we really liked their portfolios featuring the mid-century modern theme. We made an appointment with them and Eleven was the ID assigned to us. He was easy to talk to. We had some ideas on how we wanted our house to look like but were uncertain whether the ideas were feasible or how to pull them off. He tried his best to make our ideas come to life and provided advice and feedback but he wasn't pushy. He has an eye for detail and we liked his designs. He was also accomodating to our budget, so we didn't exceed our budget by too much. During renovation, we had to take the initiative to follow up with him and ask him about the timeline as progress was slightly slower than we expected, probably due to the pandemic. Like all renovations, there were some problems that occurred during renovation due to oversight but they were mostly quickly solved. Workmanship by their contractors met our expectations too. Eleven was responsive and the defects we spotted after moving in were rectified soon after we gave feedback. Overall, we are happy with how our house turned out. Thank you, Eleven! ??
