★ ★ ★ ★ ★ i love the breakfast eggs here!! idk why is it so good?? the toast is the traditional kind as their name suggests HAHA but it’s pretty decent!! kaya a bit too sweet but it’s good still. what i don’t like is their teh peng tho it’s diluted, but their teh o peng was v decent. this was like my 3rd visit probably!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really loved the unique charcoal method to toast the bread, loved the charredness from the charcoal which make the bread crispy on the outside. Filled with a generous amount of butter, which evened out well with their pleasant sweet kaya. Not to mention, their coffee was a good pair as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came to this Gim Huat Coffeeshop as there are two famous food stalls here - one of them is this charcoal traditional toast. The name 森焱 translates to spooky fire according to Google Translate. I thought it fits quite nicely as it is about toasting and charring the bread. I expected deep charcoal aroma but there isn’t much of that. But the toast is nicely done with copious amount of butter and kaya. The coffee and eggs are also very well done and overall definitely satisfies that traditional morning fix.
