★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful cakes but now in Spring 2021, Yamashita serves up a wonder-filled Sakura Swiss Roll that is made of dreams, essentially. Somehow, this petite roll of pink heralds flavours from childhood, of the sponge cakes mum used to make for our birthdays. I had an Anton Ego moment in my first bite and Dad can't get enough of it

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Centrally located in the Tanjong Pagar area with a heartland setting. $7 for a mille-feuille which had really fresh, light cream and refreshing strawberries. ?the cake too was really moist with a good texture.
Went there on a Sat afternoon and it wasn’t crowded. It’s a small shop with no indoor seating - you’d have to sit by the corridor (no air-con) if you want to dine in. The staff though, seemed a little disenchanted. Hope to be back again to try their other creations.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Original choux puff: the filling is distinctively different from every choux puffs I've tried. It was not sweet at all, very light, creamy and refreshing. The cream oozed out with every bite but never came the cloying feeling.
Mille Feuille and Ichigo Souffle: I like the moist sponge cake layer, the creamy and smooth cheese cake, the not so sweet cream in between layers, the crust at the bottom, the mille feuille layer on top aand the crumbs on the side except for the strawberries. I don't know, let's give its tartiness a credit for helping other layers stand out.

1. Nice walnut flavour
2. Price- just right
3. Has a date of expiry- good to keep track of
4. Freshness- apt
5. Packaging- friendly and will buy for friends as gifts

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I used the $100 CDC vouchers to buy. I visited them when they were at their first shop at the two-storey mini 'mall' near Cantonment Police Station over 10 years ago before they branched out into two/three brands.
The cakes taste good. I once bought their large blueberry shortcake from Meidi-ya, very good.
