Having stayed at Tiong Bahru, I would have to try my best to eat most of the food in the vicinity, although I still have not tried everything as there is too many! But I took time to try Zhong Zhong Fine Spice. Hawker stall specialising in Chinese "rojak" like tau kwa, prawn cracker, ngor hiang, spring and yam roll and many other deep-fried items. Signature item is crispy prawn cracker. Standard side dish is fried bee hoon to accompany the meal. Food items are Non-halal. Payment is cash only. Boss is very friendly & quick on his job. I stood in the queue and when it reached my turn, I get to take a plate and pick the ingredients I wanted. Following which, the boss would take your plate and ask if you are eating in or taking away. You can choose to go with beehoon which is an additional $1. He would then fry the ingredients on the spot so it would be extra crispy, before serving you with a bowl of their special sauce. Overall, it was about $5 for what I ordered. Very filling and I got to have a lot of choices. 10/10 would try again if I am very hungry.

Go with the prawn crackers, it’s really good. Prawn roll is good but not the best, have eaten better one elsewhere. The chilli sauce given is good too!

One of my favorite comfort food. Better than average bee hoon and fresh ingredients. Love th fried beancurd that's always fresh tasting .

Wide selection of the usual Ngo Hiang to choose. $8 for 5 items plus Bee Hoon. Taste normal, no wow factor. Sauce was cold.

This stall serves quite a good selection of “Chinese (fried) salad” - you can definitely find your usual suspects of ngoh hiang staples arranged in a neat fashion. Do remember to look up at the top shelf where they house the must-order super crispy flat prawn crackers. Other must orders include the pork sausage, egg slices (with water chestnut), different types of ngoh hiang rolls (original, chicken, etc), yam rolls, prawn pan cakes, bean curd skin roll, tau gua (bean curd - this is not displayed and you will be asked if you want it as add-on), various types of fish and prawn cakes - all fried piping hot before serving (except the pork sausage and century eggs which are served as-is). Last but not least, don’t forget to add the obligatory bee hoon to go with the platter of fried mix. Also noted that they packed the flat prawn cracker separately to prevent it from being crushed to tiny pieces. Oh, did I also mention the chili goes very well with it?! PS: agree with all who mentioned about the poor customer service of the man. The woman definitely fares better.

This is the worst ngoh hiong I tasted ever. And it is not cheap, as I spent more than $16 for a few items. I guess they are Top 10 Ngoh Hiong stalls in Singapore because there are only 10 stalls. All the ngoh hiong ingredients are made from a paste, and is a far cry from Lao Zhong Zhong at MacPherson. The filings are made from veggies that turned yellow. The squid is half cooked and tasted sour, totally different from what I expect from most ngoh hiong stalls. The only good item is the century egg, because it is not made by them. Do avoid this at all costs, and eat at your own risk of wasting money and filling your stomach with lousy food that you cannot finish.... Disappointed...
