β β β β β TLDR: Bad contractor alert - Clover air conditioning
Hello would like to leave a review on Clover Aircon.
We engaged them due to the recommendation from our ID and their rates were quite competitive.
Unfortunately the experience after signing with them has been most horrible.
Recently our aircon had a terrible mouldy smell whenever we switched it on.
This was 3 months after installation so we contacted Kelvin. He arranged to come down to but completely forgot about us.
No follow up was done since he had forgotten about our appointment. We had to chase him about it before he arranged for a second appointment.
After which, the circuit breaker hit. We agreed to wait till CB was over before arranging for an appointment. We tried to live with the smell but after awhile we contacted them to come and fix it as it got worse and worse. He arranged a time, saying βwe will come and check that for you.β
Lo and behold on the day of the appointment, he did not come and only his Contractors came. At this point I did not know that it was Singaporeβs legislation that only the contractors are allowed to come. So when I asked him what happened he was very sacarstic demanding don't we know that the law didnβt allow him to come. To be honest we didn't expect him to come it was because he used the word "we" so we thought he was coming. But the least i expected him to do was to inform me.
Nevertheless the issue was still not fixed and they had to come down for a second appointment. And this time he said βI will be coming down to check it out for you.β
Nevertheless, on the second appointment day, the same scene repeated itself with only the Contractors appearing. I called him to ask where he was and apparently triggered him, replying me βif Iβm saying Iβm coming means Iβm comingβ
He came over with an extremely rude attitude. Naturally after such a long delay and all the unhappiness in our interaction we were not very pleased when he was explaining about the aircon problem. The last time he assured us that it was due to the back flow in our toilet and that our toilet was too wet (with which toilet isn't wet?) and that we only had to air the toilet to solve the problem. This time he completely changed the explaination to say itβs due to the dust collected from renovation.
We were skeptical of his explaination and asked him some question since he alternated between blaming our toilet for being too wet and how our house is too dusty. (By the way we clean our house every day and our toilet twice each week. ) While we were clarifying, he started to say our face donβt look very happy that we should be apprecaitive that he is coming down to fix the aircon.
We were appalled to hear all these. After all his delay and sacarstic comments he still wanted to comment on our face. We were naturally angry and reminded him his job is to fix the aircon not to comment on our faces?. After which he said "I won't stand here and take this abuse". My wife and I were shocked at that statement. Does black face = abuse? The unpleasant conversation continued with with rude remarks leaving a very bad taste.
All in all while they are competitively priced, do be wary of signing with them as after you have signed on with them they are not responsive and also weirdly sacarstic and rude in their comments. Definitely will not engage them if we can turn back time.

β β β β β My office aircon was not cold recently, was recommended by friends to engage Clover aircon, kelvin service was very good and professional, went down to my office to explain what needs to be done and booked an appointment to service the air-con within the week. Now my Aircon is like new, very cold now. thanks clover aircon!

β β β β β Engaged Clover from a group buy when I got my BTO. Kelvin was fast and efficient in providing quotations and even did a site visit with no obligations. This was important for me as there was a few questions I wanted to clarify before going ahead. 1 year later now, the aircon is still in excellent condition with maintenance done every 6 months. Would highly recommend.
