Dr Chang is a Doctor with a good heart and care of patients. One of best doctor I recommend. His priority is on patients health improvement than any other else. I consulted Dr Chang when I was living in Singapore, and even though I now live overseas, I make it a point to see him whenever I am in Singapore. He is a dedicated doctor who cares not only about the medical aspect of his patients, but also their overall well-being. I have full confidence in his decisions and skill. I highly recommend.

My father consulted Dr Stephen Chang at Glad clinic about 2 years ago when he was still alive. He had a decreasing hemoglobin level and Dr Chang arranged for him to have both a colonoscopy and gastroscopy within short notice. Initially, my father was afraid that the procedures would be very uncomfortable but after the procedures, he "lamented" it strange that the procedures were not done at all after all the fuss. In truth, the procedures were carried out (under sedation) without any discomfort and he could not remember being at all uncomfortable. Such is the skill of Dr Chang. He called me after the procedures and updated me on the scope results and cleared up my fears. As a family physician, I have also referred many patients over to Dr Chang as all the feedback from my past referrals had been excellent. They commented that he is a caring and careful doctor and he took pains to explain to them the intricacies of their medical conditions and the details of the procedures he was undertaking with them. Many of my patients have been following up with him even after their procedures were completed. I will continue to refer my patients to Dr Chang and am thankful that he has taken such great care of those whom we have co-managed. I have logged a complaint against Stephen Chang Kin Yong of Glad Clinic to the Singapore Medical Council in 2018 with multiple very serious allegations. This will be a very tough and lengthy process as Chang has disagreed vigorously all my allegations including my allegation that he maliciously misdiagnosed my liver cyst as malignant which lead me to agreeing to have an open liver surgery for resection. An appeal has also been made to the Minister of Health in 2020 and am awaiting the decision at the time of this writing. Visited Stephen Chang for treatment options for my pelvis cyst in 2017. All the while I also knew from other doctors that I had asymptomatic liver cysts which requires no treatment. Stephen Chang performed the most invasive open liver surgery for my asymptomatic liver cysts. All that was achieved from that open liver surgery was a needle aspiration of one of the liver cyst. No deroofing or resection was done on any liver cyst. Needle aspiration of a liver cyst is an ineffective treatment as they will surely fill back up. Such a procedure can be achieved via a much less invasive ultrasound aspiration. Post surgery, I consulted both SGH and Mayo Clinic who assured me that there was no liver malignancy and asymptomatic liver cysts does not require any surgery. This liver surgery should not have happened. It is vey damaging for the body and creates a lot of adhesions. Dr Stephen Chang charged a very handsome fee for this procedure. If Stephen Chang suggest a liver transplant, I suggest you ask him how many transplant surgery he has done. Stephen Chang likes to post online and writes the longest introduction about himself which unfortunately was how I got to know him. A good , high volume surgeon will likely post the NUMBER of surgeries he has done. If you must see this surgeon I will suggest you bring a recorder and tell him you are recording his diagnosis and treatment plan. Do also ask him if there are many surgeons who goes against him and his methods. Do seek a second opinion from other high volume senior surgeons or SGH , NUH.

Professor Chang has been such a great blessing to me and my family. His diagnosis are amazingly accurate while other doctors failed to diagnose the situation correctly.
