★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Liked the experience. Well located along the bustling and hip Bukit Pasoh stretch (park at Doresett Hotel if need), this cosy bar restaurant serves up a tasty albeit small menu of food and drinks. The wine and sake list is modest, but star is their cocktail list. The Beef Katsu Sando was excellent, as was the service - really solid. The ambience is minimalist and pleasant with little nooks and cosy booths for you to revel in. I was just not inspired by the experience vs other cool new bars in the area as well as Amoy, Gemmill, etc. (standard is quite high nowadays!) but was happy with it. Would recommend if in the area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great cocktails, awesome service. They’ve got their own in house concoctions but I was boring and went with a classic negroni. A little on the sweet side for my liking but still pretty decent.
The vesper cocktail was highly recommended and I can see why now. This thing packs a punch so watch out. We tried a total of 6 cocktails that I can’t for the life me recall their names but they were all terrific. Will definitely come back on an empty stomach to try their food cos it looks pretty good too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love the vibes and deco of this place! Retro music with japanese style interior. Quiet place for drinks and catch up with friends, limited seating so do make reservations.
Food:
Tamago Katsu Sando - bread was toasted perfectly and the tamago was very delish!
Pork Katsu Sando - the sauce was a tad too much so the bread was not as crispy as the tamago sando. But the pork was well cooked & juicy!
Hamachi & Kumquat - Quite ex for 7 tiny slices of hamachi. Kumquat dressing wasn't that impressive. Overall nothing special.
Drinks:
Jewel of Fortune - Light and easy to drink cocktail, mainly strawberry taste, not much alcohol taste.
Quiet Inlet - Plum refreshing cocktail
Quite pricey for the food and drinks, bill came up to $145 for 2 pax. Food portion wasn't filling, more like a nice bite for the drinks. Sando was quite small too but worth to try at least once. Will revisit to try the Wagyu Katsu Sando!
Must say the service is fantastic! Very attentive service of topping up our water and clearing our plates. Also they gave small snacks cracker to nibble on throughout our time here! Good place for drinks and a good chat!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Live twice is the bar I got to know last year. The wife and husband finally stepped into the famous Japanese modern bar on Valentine’s Day 2022. As a new member of Jigger and Pony group, you may be familiar with the classic style shrouded by dim lights, just-right service and tasty cocktails. We tried four drinks today: for the first round, wife picked salty dog (she has walked our neighbor’s golden retriever whose name is Salty for a few weeks). The sip is mixed flavor with of course salty and refreshing grapefruit of which the base are gin and vodka. My pick was Snow flurries小雪 (our favorite among four)- it is strong in alcohol with pronounced tea fragrance. Actually the talented bar tender seems loving to add Tea as oriental factor into the original drinks (the right page with additional Chinese name on the menu). For the 2nd round, wife chose Quiet Inlet静江 and I got Jewel of fortune 福玉. Quiet Inlet contains ume spirits which is also strong- the wife got slightly drunk…Jewel of fortune has nice looking and its taste is just like it looks- strawberry with a bit tomato sorbet. In Chinese, we say “谦谦君子,温润如玉” - a prudent gentleman exudes warmth and refinement like polished jade - that might be the impression for a few signature drinks in Live Twice. What we also complimented is their food - the quality of wagyu sando is delicious (meat is a bit chewy). And the stingray fin with dips has perfectly paired with our drinks!
Overall, live twice definitely lets me associate with Jigger and Pony in the Japanese context - more implicit vibe, limited but versatile space. Do enjoy your night here - good bye today, good luck tomorrow.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A quaint little Japanese bar, I enjoyed coming here with a friend to catch up. The staff were prompt, friendly and sincere. My friend and I ordered all of the different happy hour drinks (plus a couple of non-hh) to try out but by far my favourite was the Ume Highball which was tart, sweet and incredibly smooth. We also ordered the pork katsu sando, ebi & corn sando and the stingray fin and citrus kosho. The food was nice but could be better. The katsu sando bread tasted a bit cheap while the stingray was not what we expected. All in all a decent experience, will visit again but only for the drinks.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Overall, loved the food but was not a fan of the cocktails. Still giving 5 stars as the food was really really good; was not a fan of the cocktails as it tasted very “normal” and didn’t have anything special both flavour (more importantly) and presentation (less importantly) wise.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Intriguing, cosy, intimate little bar serving up Japanese-inspired cocktails, vibes and bites.
Happy Hour runs until 6pm on weekends, offering 50% off food with a cocktail - The only bad point was that I already had dinner plans straight after so didn't have a chance to sample their food and only one cocktail...
I will definitely be back to try more of their menu!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hip Japanese cocktail bar, nestled amongst the achingly beautiful shophouses. There is an exclusive and almost secretive feel to it, a place for an intimate encounter, either romantically or with someone close to you. The cocktails are delicate and fine, beautifully prepared and presented. The bar snacks are delicious and more akin to a tasting menu. A particular and memorable place, with a high price tag.
