Possibly the best pastry you'll find in Singapore. We've tried everything from the shop and every single item is painstakingly made with the highest quality ingredients and attention to details. The baguette is chewy with crisp crust. The raisin escargot is flaky, rich, with the right level of sweetness and glaze making you want more after each bite. The croissant is buttery, flaky and yet so light and airy. We initially dropped by to check what's with all the hype and the long queues, and now a regular patron of the shop!! To avoid disappointment and frustration from sold out and long queues best to come by when they're open, place your order and come back to collect at 12:30 or 2:30pm bakes.

This is seriously delicious! I love that their croissant is flakey and buttery. All that's missing is a nice cup of coffee to complete the meal. If you are in luck, grab a loaf of their honey milk brioche. You will not regret it!

If you are looking for buttery, fluffy and flaky croissants but do not mind queuing, then you must try this croissants at Joo Chiat. The shop opens at 10am. There are customers who queue as early as 9:15am. My advice is to be there at around 9:30am, and you may be the 5th or 6th customer in the line, and may still have more variety of croissants to select.

The only regret I have is not having tried their croissants earlier! THEY MAKE THE BEST CROISSANTS IN SG. Queue— it’s worth the wait!! Crispy flakey goodness on the outside, buttery chewy texture on the inside. Perfection. And plus points: can enjoy the buttery aroma while waiting for your croissants to be ready if you’re waiting instore ?

Why would anyone queue for 1 hour or more to buy a croissant that is less buttery, less French than a shop across the street with almost no queue? To save 50 cents? you’re allowed to buy 8 pieces in one go, so that works out $4 saving. Don’t see what’s the point? Me either. To be fair, their pastry and bread are very good. Not the best in absolute quality but probably the best in value after you take the modest price into consideration. It seems that the owner opened this shop to satisfy his own ego and limit the supply enough that his customers have to queue for a long time before buying anything, and many of them often get into the shop and found out whatever they want to buy are sold out. Shop owner with attitude like this one is not uncommon in Singapore, unfortunately lots of people seems to enjoy being abused and still show up to queue day in day out. As long as people show up there’s little incentive for the owner to change his way. Personally I hope the owner would hire an assistant to increase the production, close at 5pm instead of 2pm, so that more customers can buy the product. This will also bring enough revenue to create 1 or 2 more jobs. A win-win situation to me. Would that happen? I wouldn’t hold my breath.

This bakery opens at 10am, and I queued for about an hour to finally get in! By 11am, some things were selling out! I would say the pastries were really good, but honestly, I wouldn't queue 1 hour just to buy it again.

Pastries were amazing - buttery, flaky and satisfying. Price point is also not too bad for high-quality viennoiseries. However, queue management can be better and be prepared that pastries are all sold out by the time you reach the front of the queue. Had to try three times to finally get my hands on them.

Ordered these pastries during our last visit on a weekday afternoon: - Croissant - the bakery's favorite and I can understand why. It's really buttery and flaky. One of or probably the best croissant I've ever had! - Chocolate orange escargot - another amazing pastry and it's flaky too. It's not too sweet and the orange is refreshing. - Ciabatta - fragrant and very filling pastry. It's best eaten with spread or cheese as it can be quite plain. We had it when they were warm and they tasted wonderful. It's a very popular bakery and queue is expected. Do note of their baking time and pastries can run out quickly
