Porridge Master - 442 Jurong West Ave 1

The boss of this stall has attitude problem and arrogant. I have ordered Spinach with white bait fish porridge at this porridge stall. But instead of ordering it in English, I ordered it in Chinese. And just because of I said the wrong vegetable name, I was rudely said by the boss, “don’t know how to order then don’t order” and he proceeded to look at the next customer behind me. I was shocked at his attitude. Since I have said it wrongly, why can’t you correct me and also check the order with me again. Why must said such a thing? Just because your business is good? Heard from my relative who stay around that area that before the Covid-19 situation, his business is not that good and he will even serve the porridge to the customer. But since after Covid-19, his business is good and started to be arrogant. Disappointed!!!

Visited the store on 4/5/2021, uncle was mending the store all by himself so just be more understable that it will take a longer waiting time. Food was freshly cooked at the point of ordering. The you tiao was extremely crispy. I ordered the minced chicken porridge and the meat given was quite a portion ?

Had the same experience of getting scolded by the uncle for mispronouncing the word spinach in mandarin. And when I wanted to order more dishes, he went on scolding me. I told him you can correct me but no need to scold me. He said I correct you , not happy. Decided to cancel order.

Chock full of crispy youtiao, tasty organ meat...

Value for money. Every spoon is full of meat. Came all the way from Hougang. Die die must try once. Some people complain that the uncle is very fussy. But everytime I go , just queue up ,order and stay in queue and so far uncle has been very courteous.

Nice tasting porridge with crispy sliced youtiao. Avoid lunch and dinner hours if you don't want to wait too long. Prep times are absolutely atrocious and you may end up waiting for more than an hour or two if there's anyone ahead of you.

Love porridge here. Cheap, yummy and full of ingredients. Uncle cook with heart. If take away uncle separated the fried you tiao ?

Need some patience to stand in queue as uncle cooks bowl by bowl. It’s $3 for this pork porridge that I ordered, bowl bigger than my face. See palm for comparison. I braced myself for grumpy situation, but I didn’t face any grumpy or scolding uncle as reviewed though. Porridge is FILLED with ingredient with every spoon. Quite amazing. It’s peppery though so may not suit younger kids. I did feel thirsty after emptying the bowl. It’s a very decent bowl of comforting congee in this area.
