the laboratory is significantly far away from the usual buzzes of st john island. Had to walk quite a bit and got bitten by a few mosquitoes here and there. got saved by the aircon at the public gallery, which only opens hourly to the public for only 30 mins per session. information from the gallery is quite interesting and useful, and the volunteers are quite nice. just that the outside gallery with the tanks don't seem very well maintained because the tank looks abit dirty, and i got attacked by alot of mosquitoes. but otherwise not bad

St John's island is a popular getaway spot for locals and tourists alike. The rustic vibe and non-commercialized setting of the island makes it a draw for people who just wants to escape from the concrete jungle that is Singapore, for half a day! Swimming on the beaches and having a picnic with friends and family is a must on the island! You can also go on the St John's Island Trial or visit the Sisters' Island Marine Park Public Gallery there. There are holiday bungalows/chalets that can accomodate up to 10 people avaliable for booking on the island. They even come with a kitchen!

Very small facility but worth a quick visit when on SJI. Doesn't take more than around 15/20minutes or so to read and take in all of the information.

If you like to bake in the hot sun with scarce toilet facilities, St John's is the place for you. Don't expect food or any amenities. The rare toilets are ill maintained and the island is crowded on the weekends. The queue waiting for the ferry is long and unorganized. The beach had clear water good for snorkeling. Has healthy algae bloom if you like that sort of thing. Not a good experience for me due to heat, mosquito and rare toilet facilities

Due to safe management measures, you are required to book online to visit the Marine Park Outreach and Education Centre. Capacity is set at 20 pax each hour. The exhibit area in the building is air conditioning. Exhibit depicts several facts on current conservation efforts and the history of St. John Island. At the rear holds an open concrete tank that provides visitors' views of aquatic plants and animals.
