Never do a proper submission for HDB renovation.

Overall good and pleasant experience with Mei and the team. Designs were nice.

The reason we hired an Interior Designer was because we wanted someone to manage the whole renovation, give us their "vision" for the flat, and to work with us to create something we would love. We knew an ID was more expensive than a contractor, but we thought it was worth it to pay someone to take the stress out. Story of Us Interior Design was disappointing on every aspect. 1) Our project was projected to take 6 to 8 weeks max. It ended up being delayed by a full 8 weeks. Due to the ID's poor time management , poor communication, and lack of attention to our home. 2) I selected everything in my kitchen and bathrooms (tiles, toilets, sinks, tubs, etc). There was not "design" work done at all. The ID cancelled on me 2x for shoppings trips. she was unreliable. 3) Electricals - i told the ID many times that i wanted to be there to supervise the light placements. She always agreed, but always gave me wrong date. I had to get the electric people to move some lights. 4) Cabinetry - My cabinets started warping after 6 months. I complained to ID, they said their warranty did not cover the materials. They did replace 2 doors for me, but the replacements warped again after 1 week. When i told them, they went silent. Towards the end of the project, i was on site everyday supervising the workers. I had to chase the ID everyday, etc. If i had known i would have to be so hands so, i should have paid a contractor. The ID did not give any help with furniture buying and overall interior design. They are not a interior design company. They are more like a "glorified project manager" that was not even good at their job. Also, I know i paid more than i should have -- they overcharged for electrical work not done, they returned surplus tiles and did not give me credit back. But in the end, i just paid without arguing to get them out. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Save your money, hire a contractor.

Service delivery is excellent. The price is transparent and very professional. Delivered exactly like the 3D visual shown. Please engage them to believe it yourself. Please look for Mei and her crew.

We chanced upon Story of Us randomly on social media and are glad we did! They are not only strong in their design but their work is also of good quality, are professional and responded promptly to any issues and requests raised. Mei and Jess are a joy to work with and we have no qualms about recommending them to anyone!

Mei was very responsive and we were really blown away by their presentation when we officially met in the showroom. The proposed ideas and moodboard fits what had in mind for our new place. We were not able to confirm with her solely based on our personal budget. I knew if I wanted a fuss-free design process, I would be able to trust Story of Us with it.
