Ambience: well lit and spacious. Noise level is low. Tables were well-spaced apart for privacy and safe distancing. Armchairs are comfy. Some guests dressed in flip-flops and shorts were still allowed entry so it seems there isn't any strict dress code. Food: enjoyed the otah tart, nonya kueh and scones. No dessert stood out as they were all too sweet. The calamansi tart hardly had any sour flavour at all. 2 scones per set is too few as their scones are pretty small. Too many sweet items compared to savouries (9 sweets vs 4 savouries). Not very tummy-filling as items are not replenishable. Ordered the Shangri La tea which has an uncanny resemblance to Regent Hotel's signature blend, just missing the gold dust (coincidentally both teas contain pomegranate and are from the same brand...). Service: they seemed a little shorthanded. It can be hard to get the attention of the staff for requests like topping up of hot water/ asking for the bill. Dirty dishes were left at vacated tables for some time before being cleared away. This was despite the place being half-full only. If I had to choose, I would pick the Rose Verandah as it provides a more satisfying experience in terms of food portion, food presentation, service and atmosphere.

Afternoon tea was delightful. It was a mixture of local delights alongside traditional English tea cakes and scones. Good ambience and service as usual, and I really appreciate that the food quality and services have always been so consistent!

Decent lobby lounge for a meal or even business meetings over coffee. Nice ambience, good service. The food is OK. Eggs and toast is good. Also had the sampler set for breakfast which was so so - the wanton noodles, porridge and carrot cake.

The breakfast tasting menu is a sampler of porridge with meatballs, noodles with roast pork, dumplings in soup, and pan-fried daikon cake. The food is adequate but the ambiance is superb โ€“ the lobby was peaceful, with high ceilings, overlooking the swimming pools, and ideal for calm, quiet chats.

Visited on a weekend. The ambience is good for afternoon tea. The staff were friendly and provided attentive service. Hotel provided 3 hours complimentary parking coupon upon request.

Went for the high tea today and the food was seriously underwhelming. There were more sweet than savoury dishes and apart from the crabmeat puff, the rest were average at best. Some of the nonya kuehs were allright but Bengawan solo probably does it better. We ordered a fried carrot cake cos we wanted something savoury but it was a such a letdown - dry and bland. Service from the staff was thankfully good and attentive. Will not recommend high tea for anyone.

I was expecting and looking forward to a great dinner with my friends for a lavish local food fare. We were greeted by the manager who was extremely friendly but just 2 minutes seated at our table, I was greeted by a glass of warm water which made me half wet. No service recovery was done in any form, they merely moved as to another table. The local food tasted quite different from the original stalls but the plating was attractive. I would have expected more with the Shangri-la brand.
