★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Trying to open a UOB account has been the worst banking experience of my life. Closing down the account hopefully will be faster than getting the debit card issued. Terrible.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Reported an issue with the bank a month ago and not resolved to date.
Update: in the end I managed to resolve issue on my own. It was clearly an issue with their mobile app but the bank either ignore me or when they call me is to refer me to other organisations not related to the issue.
Hope the bank will to something about their atrocious service instead of ignoring customer and refer us to other organisations that is not responsible of issue.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was relying on UOB Prvii credit card “travel insurance” to cover me while travelling.
Had an accident abroad.
Turns out they don’t insure but just provide assistance despite calling it “travel insurance”. They didn’t pay back a dime on my medical care despite telling me they would on the phone immediately after the accident.
That a company such as UOB can do such blatant misleading advertising on the service they provide, on something as critical as travel insurance is really beyond me. There should be a special place in hell for those people given there doesn’t seem to be one in jail.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was a privilege banking customer with the bank. I put a sizeable sum of money for their management.
Cutting a long story short, within a few months, UOB lost more than 40% of my invested sum.
Moral of the story: bankers have targets. They will tell you anything to get you to invest, even if they know the market is going to crash. Don’t trust their advice cos when it goes south it’s your problem and you are alone to face it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ App repeatedly says I’ve reached my transaction limit even though my bank account setting says otherwise. Been forced to transfer in $5000 batches for three days now. Called the bank who cannot give me a solution. Go to the bank counter and was told I need to pay $10? So essentially, they’re saying I’ve money in my bank but I cannot transfer it via app or online means. The only way I can use it is if I pay $10. Extremely terrible service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Offering you loan immediate same day. Loan redemption more than 2 weeks still not being processed!!!!!!! Delayed and slow, not enough manpwer etc - full of excuses on process to squeeze the last cent out on interest from customer!!!!!! Being informed interest still be charged till completion!!!!!
Delay longer on purpose get additional interest from customer which is not customer's issue when amount already parked in relevant accounts since day 1!!!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really used to like UOB one card because of how great the benefits are but for now really will:
1. OMG BE OPEN TO FRAUD!!!
Both my credit cards and debit cards were victims of fraud with foreign overseas transaction and UOB did not even bother to send me an OTP or call me despite multiple foreign transactions a day??!
2. UOB one card benefits going down the drain. Used to be able to get benefits even for insurance but now from 5%+ it’s down to 3%+.
3. Annual fee waiver rejected. ONLY bank I have ever banked with that rejected my annual fee waiver lolol.
4. Wanted to pay off installment but was told that if I paid it off, I’ll have to pay a fine of $140+?!?!?! When the amount is only $1k+
5. Wanted to get a new cheque book but was told that to cancel my old cheque book and get a new one, it’s $10.
6. Super long queue in the branch be prepared to wait for 30 mins minimum.
Now adays, I find local banks to be too complacent and not as user friendly as previously. Would you believe that foreign banks are more user friendly, willing to accommodate customers and cheaper? Government should be doing something about these local banks especially since you are pretty much forced to use them for a lot of transactions. Singapore is supposed to be a financial hub but man, how are you going to compete when your own local banks can’t make it?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The only place to buy gold from UOB. Quite far to visit to downtown for the gold.
The queue was quite long. Only 2 counters were opened during my visit and I have 11 people queueing in front. One customer averagely about 10 minutes. Took 1hr plus on the queue in total. Got the queue through SMS and will text you again once 3 people on the queue left. Was waiting on the other side of the sofa because it was full at the other side. Kept on checking the queue and I didn't check for one minute because it wasn't still my number yet, suddenly I missed the queue. The 2 numbers before me weren't around. Had to wait 10 minutes for them to serve the customer in front.
