β β β β β Visited Ameising on Tues evening for a catch up with friends and had a very enjoyable night - very nice, cosy place that serves authentic Japanese cuisine. The restaurant also has well-stocked bar that serves draft Guiness and Elderweiss beer on tap.
Must tries:
// Foie Gras Chawanmushi - generous portion of foie gras set in traditional chawanmushi. The texture of foise gras and silky smooth savoury egg custard went really very well
// Beef Sando - thick cuts of tender beef sandwiched between bread toast, served on a grill.
Remember to order a pint of Guiness Stout and have your photo "printed" on the foam. Novel and fun.
Service was impeccable - staff were extremely helpful and friendly, yet, not intrusive.
Ameising is conveniently located in Hong Leong Building atop Raffles MRT Station, right beside Lau Pa Sat.

β β β β β First floor of Hong Leong building, serves Japanese rice bowl and healthy food options. Ordered the rice don with set meal, comes with soup and beverage. Found the wagyu beef don average, sauce is too thick and sweet for my liking. Works out to be $20-25/pax.

β β β β β Am I missing something ? Not quite sure why this place is 4.7 stars. The Chirashi Don was so-so, quite small for $20. Sushi Bar is much better value. Tea was lukewarm and I had to wave for refills. Food took a long time to come.

β β β β β Great place to chill with friends over delectable Japanese fusion finger food & mains.
This is the only place where you get really cool prints on the foam of your stout!
You get to people watch looking out to the old Lau Pat Sat architecture.

β β β β β Food was pretty good (except the truffle fries). U can skip that. It doesnβt taste like truffle fries unfortunately. The rest were delicious. Loved the chawanmushi, sushi and sashimi moriawase was really fresh. Quite a nice place to chill. Good selection of alcohol beverages. The staff (Fifi) was helpful and friendly but the girls were not as friendly and doesnβt seem to know their stuff very well. Overall, good food and definitely a place I would come back to chill.
