Dishonest and unethical. My parents saw an article in the papers requesting that HDB residents should get their windows inspected to prevent accidents. Acting on this, they looked up the list of BCA-approved vendors and chanced upon Andy Interior. The contractor then gave them the impression that he would come down and conduct an "inspection". Clearly, this was misleading. When i went down to my parent's home, I was shocked to learn they paid a ridiculous $40 for his "inspection" which was no more than a simple quotation 99% of contractors do for free when they come down for a site visit to assess the work required. No certification or document was provided to show that any sort of inspection had been done, which could be shown to HDB/BCA. When i called to inquire about the charges, he backtracked and said "oh its for transport charges, i already told your parents this on the phone". Uhhh, no? On top of that, the quote he provided for a few repairs worked up to be around $320. I swiftly told him to take a hike and proceeded to get several quotations over the phone from a few other contractors, and ended up engaging one on Carousell who quoted half the price ($180) and did a great job. HDB/BCA seriously need to review the clown contractors they approve on their website. Deal at your own risk. Let this be a warning to others.
