Very interesting place. Lots of good restaurants and things to see.

This entire area was known as Kampong Jawa (Java Village). Before the British colonised Singapura, this area was home to the Malay aristocracy of Singapura. Y’all may google “Kampong Glam” to know more about its rich history. I enjoy going here for the varieties of halal restaurants. You can find Middle Eastern restaurants, Japanese, Italian to Swedish. You need to have a go at the Bhai Sarbat along Baghdad Street which serves really good tea and has been in the business for ages! Positano Risto is an authentic Italian restaurant which I recommend you try. They serve good pasta and risotto. I did a separate review on them. Honestly, some of the restaurants here deserve a review on its own which I will do in time to come. Please contribute if you have experienced any of them, it will help review readers like myself :) There are pubs and bars along Ophir St. Pre Covid, that area attracts young diners and those who just wish to hang out with good mates. Best way to immerse yourself in the atmosphere and to have a good look around is on foot. During the month of Ramadhan there’ll be a food bazaar and this place will be bustling with people. If you are looking for good textiles for that wedding dress or for special occasion, just come here. You will be spoiled with choices from silk to laces. PS: Lunch time can be super crowded at some joints.

Strolling across Arab streets. Capture the ambience and noise. Colorful streets lined up with colorful fabrics, carpets, people and food. Tons of places to shop to visit and window shop about.

Arab street is a great place, if you enjoy walking through busy roads , filled with music, graffiti walls, art work and food culture. I truly enjoyed my evening walk through the street.
