It used to be good. But now, service is so bad, the man chopping the chicken have no patience and attitude max. Chicken was very dry compared to what I had before.

Are you craving for malaysian style chicken rice? The most consistent in flavor in Lucky Plaza! Even when Jollibee opened, this store kept itโ€™s fried chicken business, and even grow stronger. The main cook is also, singaporeโ€™s strictest floor manager in orchard road!

it look underwhelming when i open the box but once i had a spoonful, it reminded me of the saying dont judge a book by its cover. the rice is the nasi ayam kind and so flavourful and sambal is on the sweeter side and a little spicy. reminds me of childhood. the ayam crispy yet flavourful!! $5.20 per packet? would come back again when i crave for it! too much review of the guy instead of the food, hope this review helps to those who wants to try! oh and i came around 12pm+ and they are almost sold out so do come early :)

I ordered 2 chicken thigh and a rice for takeaway and was charged something like $9. I can't say it's the best value of money but considering the location and the decent sizes of the chicken thighs, I would still rate value for money as 5/5. Chicken wasn't very crispy due to long journey home, but its taste was still very enjoyable. The sweet chili went well with the fried chicken rice, my only gripe was that the portion of the rice can be increased slightly. 4/5. Being my first time there, I expected a fierce/mean Malay boss, but honestly I received very good service. The fried chicken wasn't ready yet, so I sat down and waited... being engrossed with my phone, there was soon a queue formed and I had to join the queue. Unexpected, the boss called out to me after preparing the packet of food.. "bro, you first".. 6/5

Ratings to a restaurant or a stall isn't just about food alone. Attitude is equally important. Success probably gets into the head of the 2nd generation because the elderly lady definitely wasn't like that. The long list of regulars is built up over the years because who doesn't know about this awesome chicken rice stall in Lucky Plaza? But it just takes an arrogant, hot tempered, ill mannered, impatient and angry without a known reason owner to ruin it all quickly. Last time for me.

My first, and possibly only, visit to this establishment. The fried chicken is decent, but it's not something I will develop a craving for. The attitude of the male Malay stall operator is deplorable. I take issue with his tone of voice, his choice of words, his general demeanor when dealing with his customers. While eating, I have to constantly remind myself that I should not be offended, it is his choice, and I'm just another customer. Besides, he is the one holding the chopper. Admittedly, I couldn't bring myself to enjoy my lunch very much. The fried chicken was cooked and prepared by an elderly Malay lady, who was really nice to my dining companion and I, as she brought us our tea. This is a 2-star rating by virtue of the elderly auntie's cooking. While eating, I observed that the Malay male operator's attitude will vary based on his customer's ethnicity. He is also pedantic about his customers wearing their masks when not eating or when leaving the table, while he himself will remove his mask every now and then, in between preparing food. I can clearly see his disagreeable mug. I don't have enough findings to go on with, but if race is indeed an issue at this place, I definitely do not want to go back again, and perhaps, you shouldn't too.

Food that warms your soul, especially if you put some extra sambal and have two pieces of chicken! The stall operators were very friendly and even gave us a short history lesson on the origins of the business which started in Portsdown Rd camp. Be a friend to the operators and they will be nice to you!

For the price, this is a pretty good value for money dish. Simple and delicious Malay Crispy Fried chicken rice with soup. Almost every dish was on point, even the soup?? The only gripe is that the attitude of the owner is glaringly rude and almost overbearing. Other than that, Iโ€™m pretty happy with the food served here โ˜บ๏ธ
