A clean HDB block ...

Resident area. 3 room flat mostly. People are nice here.nice community with great people around.

Though the cleanliness of this block has improved but there are still people throwing rubbish outside, especially near the letter box area. It looked so unsightly n caused inconviences to our poor cleaners working tirelessly just to clear off the dump. From looking out through my window i could see the carpark lots are badly littered with tissue papers, empty bottles, plastic bags, food wrappers, etc.... which led me to think whether SG could be called a 'fine city'. This subject on cleanliness should be taught from a young age, once children are able to talk and learn through animation from books n short video clips depicting the conseqences from the lack of right behaviour. Every day all schools should rotate short talks on all subjects of character building for a person to become a successful, useful, upright, magnanimous, emphatic, caring, .... future citizen. My suggestion is "why not train some elderly people on character building subjects to teach students from Pr 1 onwards and to secondary students, on more serious subjects like drugs, smoking, under-age sex, illegal acts like scams, loan sharks' runners, wrong use of handphones, etc......" Maybe this long suggestions should be directed to MOE but due to the question asked, i have but with no reservations, just highlighted it. Regards
