★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a hidden gem opposite some HDB blocks. Follow the ribbons to find the Japanese Bridge. Make sure you wear long pants and good trekking shoes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The entrance is quite easy to find, it's just next to the big signboard. Once you enter, you'll immediately be greeted by these old Jurassic Park looking steps that lead straight to the abandon well.
The torii gates is slightly difficult to make your way there as there's no clear passage there, but it's not far from the well. The trick is.. just ask other fellow trekkers haha!
Wear long pants and shoes as there's alot of ants, avoid going there after the rain as it can be quite muddy, and lastly bring a buddy! Don't go in by yourself, and respect the forest.
It's a good experience, reminds me of trekking in an off beaten track in Sarawak.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fell onto a thorn bush, stepped on an ant nest, bitten by mosquitoes, slipped and landed on my butt, friend walked into a spider web with a humongous spider! Want more could you ask for from an adventure! Go from the difficult entrance and be rewarded by the shrine. Be ready to track back and try again and again. Practise your gut-feel and navigation skills.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Turn on your phone GPS and you should not get lost. If there isn't a clear trail, look around again. There could be one not too far away. Better than bashing through the vegetation.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Probably one of the lesser known locations to hike, this place used to be a proper park but has since became abandoned. Entry to this park isn’t that hard to find, you can enter from avenue 5 or avenue 2 and look out for some indications which are quite obvious. Main attraction is the torii gate (alike) and the abandon well (really?) which are probably the only 2 photo spots. The rest of the park are not too hard to navigate around and there are some challenging slopes which you can choose to embark on (but safely first).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I rate this place high bcos of very minimal intervention by the authorities. There are no signboards, no proper trails or paths. These are precisely why u rated it 5 stars. The experience is very authentic.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Both Hillside Park 1 and 2 are essential climate control mechanism which are highly beneficial to the health of residents within a 1km radius from its location. We must protect Hill 2 from being exploited by HDB (which it did to Hill 1). Hill 2 actually lowers the ambient temperature by up to 3 deg C across the Bukit Batok Polyclinic.
