β β β β β Location very good, easy to find Halal food, near to Geylang Hawker Ctr. Room wise quite big for this type of price, but the pillow very hard, not use to sleep with hard pillow, surprise when they ask my wife to pay $1 for extra bottle of mineral water. Other then that everything OK.

β β β β β I was a visitor there my two other friends are staying the entire day, visitors have to leave the room by 11 but unfortunately i fell asleep and the front desk went and came up to my friends room and while i was sleeping he just barged in the room!!. I could have been not wearing anything at all. I understand that i was supposed to leave at 11 but this was a invasion of privacy, please do something about it. My friends and I wasnβt doing anything illegal or anything against the hotel policy

β β β β β Larger room than most in Singapore. Convenient location with rrstaurant and supermarket nearby. I walked from hotel to famous Colourful Peranakan house with nice view along the road. The room is nice and clean but there is no hairdrier in room, you have to get it from hotel lobby. Recommended!

β β β β β This hotel is generally good. The location is very convenient, you can have many delicious food around the hotel. Only one thing to complain about is that the Wi-Fi speed sucks. You even canβt connect to the Internet in the evening.

β β β β β Disclosure: all of the opinions are based on my experience and standards.
I managed to book the family room for a steal, at a sweet $92 (klook alw has the best deals) but other then the price pls brace yourself for an extremely honest review. Having stayed in many other hotels i have to say unfortunately this hotel is on the bottom of my list.
First, the room size is extremely small, though a family room there is barely any allowance to walk around. The beds are uncomfortable, pillows are hard (1 pillow per pax and a cushion?) Also take note that the bed is very short and the edges are sharp. The blanket smells and looks like it was used and not changed.
The TV and aircorn are really old, aircon has mold and ALOT of dust on it. The tv remote was sticky and smelt funky. The tv was flickering so couldnβt enjoy.
The toilet is extremely small no legroom. Im not exaggerating, the toilet is really really small , you can put ur legs down u have to squat or seat sideways. The shower space was ok , water was either too hot or too cold.
The room itself is so bad, the wallpapers are tearing and there are holds and random algae growing everywhere. U can refer to the pictures.
Last but not least, the customer service staff was pretty rude and didnt even have the bare minimum customer oriented service. I felt like her poor service had entirely ruined the setting.
Definitely not coming back, but hope that the management can do something.

β β β β β Superior double room was spacious and there is a corner for you to eat or do your work. Fridge, mineral water, toothbrushes are provided. I deducted 1 star because the wallpaper was peeling off and the bed was rather low and short.

β β β β β Had a 5 days staycation in the Double Room, stayed on the 2nd floor. Recommended for solo travelers and couples who enjoy exploring cultural places. Not recommended for business due to poor WiFi. Walk in price is exp. Booked via booking.com. hard to find hotels at this price range with honest and true reviews and allow ease of driving. Many budget hotels and hostels do post false reviews to maintain their declining rating. This hotel is good so far in my opinion.
The Good
Rooms are great. No complaints for this price you are paying. Water pressure is awesome and Aircon easily cool the room within minutes. Rooms are clean. Though it is not as good as the 5 to 6 stars, it is reasonably clean and meet all basics easily. I love the desk and the chair. Very comfortable to do your work. It is alittle old but clean.
Noise level is acceptable as it is a low rise building. Occasionally some traffice noise late in the night but no issue for someone who is sensitive to noise like me.
Staffs are great actually. Some online reviews complains that they are not friendly enough but I feel they more of efficient and effective hosts which I prefer. Try asking for directions, hair dryer and iron. You will find that they are really helpful and efficient. I like their clear instructions.
4k TV. I was surprised that the room has a smart TV, 4k and with Netflix 4k. Blow my mind off. Really enjoyed watching the shows.
Location is good because you get to see the culture of Joo Chiat: the food, the cafe, the people living and working here. You should walk around and find hidden gems.
Parking: there are parking lots for guest however with restrictions: only 4 to 5 lots available, first come first serve. Height of the vehicle must be below 1.58 due to low ceiling. My car is 1.7 so I did not park there but there alot of street parking lots that are free after 10pm. It is easy to park around the area however, Friday night may be alittle packed. I just planned my itinerary and drove back at 10pm and enjoyed the free parking until next day 8.30am. I will also drive to east coast park and park there for free and enjoy my day at the beach.
I personally went to the following. You can Google map the names if you are keen. All walkable.
A. Joo chiat Prawn Noodle: the coffeeshop has two stalls but served great old school prawn noodle and Cha Kway Tiao.
B. Sevens Cafe.: Beautiful interior design cafe with great BLACK coffee and pastry. Avoid lunch time. Free WiFi on receipt if you buy something.
C. Ah Yee Soon Kueh: if you like kuehs, do visit them but it is alittle on the expensive side. Their portion is also bigger.
D. The Original Vasai: I ate their prawn Vasai almost every day. It is truly a gem.
E. Marhaba Murtabak: their murtabak is really good. Open til late night.
What I dont like
WiFi: unstable and slow which I was prepared when I saw other reviews. I had to go near the door to get the wifi. The desk area was unable to reach the wifi. It is really a pity. Internet connection is essential and the hotel should look into this. It is easy to solve. Surprisingly it does not affect your 4k TV netflix watching. It could be a connected cable. I am not sure.
Towels: I prefer the rough kind which dries your body easier. The towels are clean but it is micro fibre material which I usually use on my car to prevent scratches when cleaning.
Windows: hmmm... I am not sure they are consider as windows in the photo.haha.
Hand wash: they have sanitizer but no hand wash which I was puzzled about. Had to use the body wash to wash my hands.
Travel sustainable: I think this hotel uses alot of aircon energy during off peak hours and period. Should look into it how you can optimise.
Colours of the hotel: it is grey. Even the t-shirt for staff is grey which blends well in the neighborhood. But I personally will hope that they change it to have brighter colors as they should be "champion" of the neighborhood.
Generally I love the price, hotel, parking, food. Really enjoyable. I will be back soon to explore more hidden gems.
