I was looking for a place for a quick lunch after a morning meeting and I chanced upon this place. I took a while looking at the menu before I confirmed that β€œchar seal” is about char siew (bbq roast pork) and not something else ?. Surprising very good as you can see from the picture. The $9.90 set came with tender char siew done perfectly, onsen egg, some broccoli, and 2 pieces of amazing pork rine that added some crunch. There is some sauce at the side for dipping which taste great but a bit salty. There was also a can drink to go with the delicious bowl. Try it when you are at the vicinity.

Had a gathering with my friends at Char Seal Bar on New Year day. The signature Char Seal is very yummy! It melts in your mouth. Loved the yuzu sauce too. Highly recommended for cosy atmosphere! My friends love it !!!

Excellent char siew and craft beers! Had this yuzu beer that was very light and easy to drink Ordered a huge plate of char siew to share among friends and everyone polished it off. Also got the salad and fried broccoli and rice with onsen egg. Ashley, who is the owner, was very friendly! She very nicely gave us a bit of chicharron on the house! :D Truffle sauce is to die for! One portion would not be enough. The bun with char siew inside is also amazingly soft and fluffy. Would definitely come back again!

Well hidden in Havelock 2 but not difficult to find, I found this place to be like home because the service here is so hospitable! From entering to leaving I felt the service was really good and I think it's Ashley and family doing a great job serving the customers. Food is decent and good but just some feedback from the experience: felt that the variety of the starters pretty little, a lot of focus is still on the char siew and pork related items so would have expected a little more selection to choose from. Kinda weird like they serve fried brocolli as starters and also have small portion to try in the mains so it's kinda like repetitive. Next is the mains, generally on the rice and the noodles. I think it's quite reasonable and the portion might seem a bit small when served but is definitely just nice after finishing it. The main highlight is the char siew of course, which strikes a resemblance to the KL style ones, I love the tenderness and the fattyness of the char siew as well as the black sweet outer layer, but what was missing was the crisp and the burnt flavours which made it a little disappointing. They still recommended us to try the hot pot which we didn't as we already had some food prior. Not too bad for a start but hopefully more to come.

I started with their home made Char Siew and now finally get to hunt them down at 2 Havelock. They are at Chinatown area and walking distance from Chinatown MRT. Char Siew is tender with a sensational charcoal flavouring + Yuzu sauce is a must try. My Char Seal Don has fried broccoli ? and an osen egg. yummy #charsiew #charseal

Very friendly lady boss. There were lots of local craft beer on tap. Those on Kegnologic (eg., Craft 65 and 1925) may be a little on the pricey side but the Sunbird drafts were reasonably priced at $20 for two pints. The special lunch sets were quite expensive at $10.90 but still worth trying, which includes a noodle/rice and a canned drink. Everything were nicely cooked although the char siew was a little too sweet for me.

Chanced upon this place on a Saturday afternoon. Restaurant is quite feminine in design in contrast with the usual meat/beer places. Sides were very enjoyable - broccoli and pork rinds were crisp and paired well with an original sauce. Ordered the char siew with special noodles. Portion size value for money for the price. The char siew on first bite was impressive - soft and tender on the inside and crisp on the outside. However felt quite jelat after 3 pieces.. might have been less oily if we had it with rice. Otherwise service was great. Special mention for $3 off parking if you spend $30 at the mall.

While I appreciate the pun, the food is passable. Wanted to get lunch and tried their don, whose broccoli was deep fried to the point it's flakey and sad, the pork is fine and the soft boiled egg with tobiko give the dish much needed moisture. The rinds are ok, but not my cup of tea. They serve Roji tea btw, which is my favorite. The ambience isn't what I would bring anyone to impress, the effort is there with pastel colors but is brought down by the Mall's interior cold lighting.
