Cherki - 1 Straits Blvd

After seeing the reviews on Google, I thought this restaurant would be worth a try. Unfortunately, my experience couldn't be further from what I expected. I'll start with the better parts first. Their beef wellington and unique orh nee cocktail was decent and fairly enjoyable. Me and my family didn't get to try many of their other mains like fish, beef cheeks and chicken as they were not in stock. Nevertheless, we hope their other sharing dishes were at least reasonably enjoyable for their price. However, this was not the case. Service was average at best. Most of the other dishes were lacklustre and disappointing. In particular, their 14 dollar meatball soup tastes like regular hawker fare fishball noodle soup that is usually served free at the side. To make things worse, the meatballs weren't even close to fantastic either. The music playlist repeats after 15 minutes or less and the sound quality is atrocious. Overall, the value for money here, is really really low (despite using Burrple to offset two of the lower priced dishes). I generally try to cushion my negative reviews but I found it hard to do so given the unsatisfying meal and steep prices.

10/10 for the service. The staff was kind and really made the whole experience enjoyable. The cocktails were really creative and the food was delicious. I would recommend Dancing in the Moonshine to those who enjoy creamy drinks.

An excellent fusion of Peranakan and Western cuisine. We found the place a little inconvenient to get to, and the portions a little on the smaller side, however the service staff were wonderful, the menu is very interesting and the food was DELICIOUS. We tried the Laksa Lobster Linguine, Nyonya Herb Crusted Snapper, Chicken Lollipops and Rice Pancakes for dessert. We can’t wait to come back to try more of the amazing food here. Kudos to the folks at Cherki for churning out such sumptuous and creative food!

One of the easiest 5 stars I've given. Every single person on the table absolutely loved their dish, even the small eaters demolished their plate. We moved on to desserts which were all great, but the best for me was the rice cakes with banana.

It is a small and cozy restaurant that serves contemporary Peranakan food. Maybe price is on the high side but it's definitely worth it. We ordered the Baba Stuffed Squid, Yuzu Seafood Kueh Pie Tee, Banana Heart Seafood Salad, Nyonya Pesto Fried Rice, Laksa Lobster Linguine, and Braised Pongteh Lamb Shank. All were very delicious especially with the belacan. Can probably skip the Laksa linguine as you can find it elsewhere. For drinks, we ordered Dancing in the Moonshine, Pulut Hitam and Potpourri. They were like a cross-over between typical Nyonya desserts and alcohol, so it's really fun to drink and very insta-worthy. The service was excellent and the waiter was able to recommend many good dishes and drinks. The toilets were surprisingly spacious and very clean. Would love to go back again.

The food was served promptly. While the dishes looked like the typical Peranakan fare at a glance, we were pleasantly surprised that everything tasted very delicious! Will definitely return to try the other items on the menu.

The beef wellington here is soo deliciously good! A must try if you like to eat beef! The soup was nice too! Fries were pretty normal but the drinks were quite interesting! Happy hour prices before 8 :)
