β β β β β There are 2 HKM stalls in chomp chomp food centre. Dry Version (Ah Hock) and Wet Version (Chia Keng).
Quite frankly, Chia Kentβs wet version is PRETTY DAMN GOOD! Noodles were fried to βwok heyβ perfection with bits of super crunchy pork lard sprinkled on it. Most imptly, their signature chilli really gave that extra oomph to your palette!!
Definitely a must have when u are around this area!!
Gave it a 5 as too many critics were thrashing this stall up due to its poor service.
TBH, I donβt really care about this when it comes to hawker fare. Just a good place of authentic HKM will suffice.

β β β β β Chia Keng Hokkien Mee are priced at $4, $5 and $8 with ingredients of prawns, tender pork belly, and crispy pork lard. The secret recipe is in the crispy pork lard and the chilli sauce. It will makes you go Hmmmmmmm. Wetter and more saucy version, with the magic lying in the stock that imparts this sweetness to the dish. Yummy while it is hot, and you would appreciate itsΒ wok-hei. Long queue is expected during peak hours and the place is rather crowded. Give it a try during rainy day. The shorter queue and the wet weather can make the local dish worth the drench.

β β β β β Whenever I'm at chomp chomp, I will order this. My girl all times favorite ?, she only patronize this stall of the whole entire chomp chomp. She can finished the whole plate by herself.
4 sgd for the small.plate. awesome and delicious.
Don't judge the ugliness of the display, it tasted good.

β β β β β Above average plate of hokkien noodles. Impressed with the large and fresh wild prawns that they used. The $4 portion is quite tiny. Probably should order $5 the next time.

β β β β β THE BEST AND MOST AUTHENTIC HOKKIEN MEE IN SINGAPORE.
Our family has frequented this stall over many years and itβs safe to say this is our favourite hunt.
Unlike many other stalls, their prices have remained affordable and quality consistent. Ingredients are always fresh and you can definitely taste it in the dish.
Owners of the stall are lovely as well and always patient no matter how busy it gets. They make a conscious effort to remember their regularsβ orders too - which is lovely.
Not to be confused with the other hokkien mee seller in the food centre. Extremely tasty and authentic and in all our years of hunting down the best hokkien mee in town, weβre happy to say this is THE TOP of the list.

β β β β β Not sure why rating is bad. One of the best hokkien mee in singapore uses thin bee hoon more than yellow which is my preference. Strong pork lard fragrance

β β β β β Thereβs only 2 types of Hokkien Mee to satisfy oneβs craving at Chomp Chomp, wet or dryer version. Both stalls are good.
Personally I prefer Chia Keng coz itβs the original unhealthy style with pork lard and pungent belacan (see photo) - Whilst Ah Hock version is less saucy & healthier. BTW both have their own fans & long queue during peak hour.

β β β β β despite their popularly and famous status, assuming they have younger generation staff, they are CASH ONLY. NO OTHER ELECTRONIC PAYMENTS ACCEPTED UNLESS YOU ORDER IN BULK(?). Sadly, Minus 1 ?
Food is served relatively swift and they bring to our tsbleβwhich is a scarcityβwith 2 people mending at cashier/order.
The food itself tastes great with its substantial gravy and wok hei. And nice tangy chili. $4 plate with some seafood.
