β β β β β This is my school. The staff and students there are polite. I thoroughly enjoyed the time I had in this school and I like the fact that the school gives the girls many learning journeys, in both academic and CCA areas. My teachers were always ready to help anyone who asks for help. Sometimes, they even agree to stay back after school to help students in their work. Also, all the CCAs there are supported greatly by the staff at CHIJ Kellock. In the choir CCA, the teachers-in-charge, with the principal, organise awesome national and overseas learning journeys, to broaden the choir's knowledge. Once, they went to Tokyo for an exchange programme and to participate in ChildAid Asia Tokyo! I highly recommend this school and I hope all the girls from this school will flourish in life.

β β β β β well this school might have some strict teachers but i love this school because u could meet new people when they use activities to introduce them to us but the bad side is that now the drink store(which also sells donuts(which are sweet...), some kind of food idk and pau. They donβt sell green tea(even the one with no sugar), and other some healthy beverages now they are only selling bottled water, milo, HL milk and yakult. But i still like the store vendors though cos they are friendly:)So iβm giving three stars for the good studies and frens and some teachers:)i hope someone would read this!

β β β β β Previous Principal is very good. Quite a lot of teachers are good. However, there are certain policies are outdated and not effective which stress the students. Eg. homework are heavy and yet they are made to copy same composition again and again for a few times causing them to sleep at 12am frequently.

β β β β β Studied at this school on 2005 and graduated on 2010. Looking back, I had the worst primary education experience. Apparently students who are "late bloomers", or who have cognitive and academic disadvantages receive horrible treatment by teachers. Even if you are not, the teachers were excessively abusive for minor issues (such as forgetting to bring/do homework). Some had "favourites" to praise and "least favourite" students to humiliate in front of the class. Whenever a student is being scolded by a teacher, it seems that I have always observed another teacher to join in and "gang up" on the poor student.
I once forgot to bring a Math mock exam paper, and it so happens that we have a Science Center excursion on the same day. For that, I got made by my form teacher, Mrs Sheila Cleetus, to complete a new math exam paper FOR THE ENTIRE SCHOOL EXCURSION. This means finishing the math paper while classmates learn and participate in Science programs at the Singapore Science Center. I was only allowed to finally "play" when we were waiting for the school buses to arrive to bring us back to school. I have never felt so humiliated.
Not to mention, my sticker book was confiscated by a teacher and I was never allowed to reclaim it (after I had tried to take it back).
On my final year of primary school, I finally prospered with the help and support of Mrs Doris Lee. Though, I can never forget the horrible treatment experienced by most of the teachers. This left me with poor self-worth in my academic abilities and confidence. It seems that they assume young children are "stupid" and "dumb", when certain actions can drastically impact on your child's self-esteem. I am now a university student. And come to think of it, I will never send my child to this pretentious school who will leave bad memories for helpless, developing children.

β β β β β The friends i made in kellock are still my best friends now. (I'm 45 years old). Looking back, it was a fantastic experience for me. The teachers were strict but most of us did well for PSLE, eventhough I'm not academically inclined. I remember playing BLOW WIND BLOW at the mushroom ?, catching, hopscotch and five stones in kellock. I was able to excel and do well in this environment and it helped cos i had a terrible family environment. Bad experience in P6 with principal Mrs Lau. I was accused of stealing but she didn't believe me when i said i didn't. I almost said i did cos she kept questioning me. Glad i was able to hold out to my own integrity at that age, in circumstances that almost made me admit to something i didn't do. (I can relate to why youngsters are not allowed to be questioned by the police without parents)
Fast forward 2020. Both my girls graduated from this school. Every time i went for school events, the teachers are always so encouraging to the girls and they cheer louder for the girls, louder than the parents, eg for awards or performance. I recognize my P5 form teacher , Doris Lee and took a picture with her in 2018. Can see the dedication of the teachers when they brought my girl on an overseas trip, they blow dry EACH girls hair till late at night..
My girls said the teachers are strict but personally every time i was there, i had a very positive vibe about it . i highly recommend this school!! Thank you to all the teachers, we remember you and talk about you whenever we meet up!
I was super pumped that the Netball girls won 1st , as we did when i was in kellock (top3?)
