CHIJMES Hall

Nice location with restaurants bordering an outside lounging area. Going in the summer afternoon heat can be brutal, so evening time it gets packed. I saw a Michelin star rated ramen place there, loads of fancy, expensive restaurants and a Mexican food supply store. I tried the outdoor Mexican restaurant, Senor Taco, and it was the closest I have been to Mexico since moving to Asia. Pricey but totally worth it. La Mexicana store was also made in heaven for expats living abroad who need a little Mexican loving to add in their kitchens.

A wonderfully restored Chapel that is very nicely lit up at night - well worth a visit to admire the great architecture

Designed in 1898 by famous architect of Church of Saints Peter and Paul Father Charles Benedict Nain for the Convent of Holy Infant Jesus Chapel consecrated in 1904. Unique stained glass windows imported from Bruges Belgium in 1904 were designed by Jules Dobbekaere. After deconsecrated for non-religious use in 1983, it currently serves as a function hall for concerts weddings and corporate events. The excellent in Acoustic is one of the best amongst the buildings in Singapore. A heritage worthy of preserving but as in all past grandeur, it has to find ways to make itself relevant & sustainable. CHIJMES has done well with this hall (Chapel) which I present herewith one of the functions it held.

Great classic colonial era architecture. Been here for church service. Nice restaurants around, public space,lots of happening. Photography spot.

Attended the Candlelight Concert at the Chijmes Hall. Was a great experience. The theme of the concert was "a tribute to Queen", and they played many songs by the famous band Queens including "We are the champions", "We will rock you" and "Under Pressure".
