Heard of the popularity about this stall and highly recommended by a friend. Went to tabao since we back to Phase II. Ordered Prawn noodles dry versions with chillis. To be fair, packed food always cannot compared with eating right in the shop. The noodles cooked just right. Prawns are fresh, slices lean pork is over cooked, slices of fish cakes are nothing special. The sauces is a mixture of light and dark soya sauce. Chillis is normal. But, just could not blend to my liking of prawns noodles. The soup is lightly flavoured, with abit of Bak Kut Teh? Lacking of prawns and porky taste. $4 for the serving and ingredients are over average. Especially 4 prawns (slices into half). Not my authentic prawn noodles.

Really disappointing as it just didn’t taste as what claim by others here. It was so bland and didn’t even feel any saltiness at all! Lack of the wow Malaysian style black sauce with lard. Not sure they have missed out putting chili paste into my noodle! Ordered the dry prawn noodle with few slices of prawn, fish cake and meat @ $4. The meat is so hard and over cooked ! Ordered the intestine soup @$8 and the pig liver is over cooked for sure . The soup kind of sweet like adding sugar into the soup! The ingredients like pig intestines, kidney, liver, pig tail cured till so small that I don’t think it worth $8 !

Finally, after missing them for the few years since they closed the stall along Upp Bukit Timah Road, we managed to sink our teeth on this Malaysian styled prawn noodles! There aren't many similar kind of prawn noodles around, glad that I've found them here in Bukit Batok. Somehow the dark soy sauce gives the noodles an enhanced flavour which makes it even tastier. This coffee shop seems really busy and there's a queue at every single stall.

Black prawn noodle with the option of adding offals. The black noodle would be much nicer if they added lard, soup is more on the herbal side than prawny side. Heard weekend always long queue.

Ordered the dry prawn noodles ($4) with Mee Pok and Mee Kia. Portion was relatively small and there were half prawns x4 and some fishcake and pork slices in it. The texture of both noodles were really good; sauce was on the sweeter side and complemented the meepok really well, but was a bit much for the Mee Kia. Personally feel that the yellow noodles might have been the better option cos I’m assuming the sweetness is meant to kill off any ghee taste in the yellow noodles. The soup was a winner though, it’s the kind of herbal soup you usually get when you buy duck rice. Perhaps the soup prawn noodles would be a star since the soup was ? I think it’s worth trying but I wouldn’t travel here just for this bowl of dry noodles.

To me it’s a bit disappointed as coming over from far and queuing long but finding the shrimp soup base is like herbal soup, light and sweet (which I don’t like). The dry version is sweet dark sauce base with slightly spicy taste, feels much better than the soup version. But just like pulling over the traditional chili dark sauce on the plain noodle, nothing special for the queue.

Tried the prawn noodles dry. The sauce is dark, sweet, and slightly spicy. The soup (like clear broth) has some hints of herbs and also slightly sweet. But I have to say the ingredients were fresh, especially the prawns. But taste wise I was a bit disappointed. Maybe their recipe is not really for me. I very much prefer the savory version with thick full bodied soup. Really depends on what your preferences. ?

Ordered a bowl of noodles with liver and Kidney (less noodles). The auntie put too much dark sauce and it was quite a overkill cos I had less noodles. Became very salty. Next time I will order normal size. Soup is the herbal type but a tad too sweet for me.
