Been a CITI rewards card holder for over 5 years. Their service quality has seriously gone down the drain in the past few years. Customer service is practically non existent, the only time a CSO calls back is when they want to sell you something. Nowdays super difficult to get any annual fee waiver, late payment by 1-2 days also cannot waive. So the cycle goes like this, apply for waiver, get rejected, get billed admin fee and finance fee on top of the annual fee. Apply for waiver again, get rejected and the fees just keeps snowballing. Call to waive have to fight through the automated system and when you finally get to speak to someone your call keeps getting transferred around. Seriously Citi?

Beware that itโ€™s really hard to cancel their cards coz the person over the hotline canโ€™t do it like other banks. And someone else has to call u back to confirm which is totally redundant. Also the phone system is a pain

Agree with other reviewers and to add this is by far the worst overseas consumer bank. Years back my partner and I cancelled our savings account due to them being rigid, issue with the RM, credit card and long story... Mistake that we maintain the SMRT Citibank cc. Late payment by 2 days late fee cannot be waived, still need to call although it is auto-requested then 2nd time still cannot waive, wait for RM to call. We were late due to house reno also being "told off" not a valid reason. Not as if we are defaulting on payment, waiver was requested AFTER payment was made. "So if suay hospitalised pls also remember to pay Citi bill." Secondly, in 2020 we had hardcopy statements and opt-out of the soft copy as we verify our transactions. Requested for hardcopy also need to call in so many times before finally action. Also, they seem to send out statements late or times never receive the statement (Hello mail do get lost by Singpost) as by the time those received in our mailbox not much time left, and statement indicated immediate payment when we have no outstanding charges why need to be immediate? Fortunately my main credit card is not with them. End: Finally had my cc waived after calling the RM. A hassle experience on the overall. @citisingapore #citibanksingapore #citibanksg #lousyservice

They have completely removed customer service from their hotline (or managed to hide it so well in their phone banking system that I couldnโ€™t find a way to talk to an officer after making 5 calls). Mobile banking doesnโ€™t have answer or option to even talking to a chatbot. I have been with Citi for 14 years, it was good but not any more. I will consider cutting all my relationship with this bank. Good job Citibank!

This is a bank that you should not sign any products with them. I know about compliances, but I cannot tahan the rigidness. we just request a general letter to mention when this account is established, that's all. it is pretty general information and this is only for reference in case we need it when we are asked about it. But this simple letter has to be communicated for more than 3 days and still cannot resolve this issue until ..... just forget about the letter. We won't request it anymore. We just need to close this account and will not recommend any of Citi products to all our counterparts. Hope Citibank can improve ur policy as ur staff depends on ur policy. Those who don't believe it... pls try it as I can sat this is my experience. To open account, super easy... to close the account, the most troublesome that we ever encounter.

Most greedy bank I've ever dealed with. Only waiting to charge your late payment even you made interbank transfer to pay 2-3 days in advance. No waive and don't care what you explained. I'm talking about Citibank, I don't know if Citibank is different from Citibank International. But reading the reviews, all have same issues like me. So stay away from it if you want a peace of mind as they'll keep calling you to talk you into using their credit cards. Been using their cards for 15 years now no regret cutting the cards into pieces after successfully "begging" them to cancel my cards since once you apply for cancellation, they will keep calling to ask you to reconsider, while they never consider how ridiculous they charged you. 1 star for the "smart" effort to get money from loyal customers.

Terrible terrible service. Citibank used to be my preferred bank for credit cards for over 10 years but since 4-5 years back, the service standards have dropped tremendously. - Cutting cost. Phone center moved to Philippines with some bad attitude or limited English staff. Phone hotline cuts off earlier unless it is for emergency. -Extremely strict with late charges now, even when spent a decent amount monthly with them. -Today I cannot even get hold of any phone staff!! Think twice before you bank with them. I will be shopping around for other banks.
