★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located just opposite of National Library. The shopkeeper is very nice, she always welcome her customer to spend time in the bookstore. There're many talks, lecture, movie and documentary screening holding at here as well. Strongly suggest every book lover visit this place, you'll have a good time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The shop receptionist was rude and unwelcoming. Telling me must buy book as it is a business not just come in and read. First my advice to her is to brush up her customer service skills.
I understand everyone has bad and good days but it's unfair of her to show her attitude toward the customer like this or maybe I owe her something in the past life.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a lovely bookstore!!! It has a wide collection of local and international Chinese titles of various genres — they have a number of local English titles too.
The owner is extremely friendly and wonderful to talk to. You can trust her to give recommendations when you want to explore a new genre, or buy a book for a friend or a particular occasion!
The store gives a warm feeling and you will definitely enjoy browsing in this space :-)

Previously, I have bought a book about poetry from Singapore, an anthology.
This bookstore has a focus on Chinese-language books, besides selling English-language ones.
Recently, the owners have moved the bookstore from Bugis to Joo Chiat.

It is net and Clean & Everything are displayed nice and decorated too.
So I think, City Book room is the best book room like others books store.
