I took a series of classes with Mr Chew and Mona during the pandemic when I was at my lowest, and this was such a transformative experience.
Learning with their caring, judgement-free, and gentle guidance slowly uncovered my long-forgotten pottery skillz from uni, and awakened a curiosity and hunger to experiment with a raw primal material.
Unique point: Clay Street works with reclaimed wild clay dug from places around Singapore, which is an uncommon practice locally (itโs time-consuming to process), compared to most other studio classes that use mass-produced commercial clay.
Thereโs something precious and ancestral in taking part of our local earth between your fingers, shaping it into something that exists only in your mindโs eye, and watching it grow into reality before you.
