Just ordered 1 dish from this shop which was kung pow chicken with rice. Really like the taste, the wok hei and flavor. Will definitely be back to try out other dishes!

Owner is Uncle Hong (洪哥) who was formerly from heritage restaurant 利华酒家 and trained under the legendary chef Tham Yui Kai (譚悦佳). After a few years, he started his first stall in Silat Road and later moved here in 2009. Take note of the short opening hours from 11:30am to 12:30pm. For the wallet or battered chicken (糯米鸡) @$67, you need to order in advance. Other OFFLINE recommended dishes are black bean hor fun, white fungus soup, prawn nuggets, bean sprouts with salted fish, real shark fin's soup $21. The pig liver is good but for $10, the portion is small.

5 stars thumbs up for the food and 3 stall operator owner aunties team. Tried prawn paste chicken, claypot liver, tofu roast pork and kailan in oyster sauce. All good and yummy. The liver was tender soft even for take away order. We heard about the salted fish fried rice and hope to try it in future.

Old school cze char, must try before it gone. The sweet and sour pork is good. Both the old ladies that help the dishes are nice and friendly. Expect long wait as I waited for 40 mins for mine. Worth trying before it gone.

Be prepared to wait if you want to try cheap and delicious food. The 80+ year old chef Hong gor is the only one preparing all the food. The quality of the food beats a lot of restaurants in Singapore. My only regret is only knowing about them in 2020. Edit: Added photos of the different dishes from my visits so far.

I was just sitting nearby bc I ordered food from another stall but two aunties sat down at my table too and they told me this stall serves very food Tze char. They recommended the hor fun but said other dishes are very good too. Saw a few customers come and pick up their items - serving is big. Would love to try it out day!! Edit on 3 May 2022: changed to 3 stars. Waited 3hours for the food cuz PH. ? my family nearly threw rotten eggs at me. The meat dishes are very good - pork ribs and gong pau chicken but we never coming back again due to the looooong wait. They don’t need me as a customer, and I don’t have to eat their food either. Just a good try (cry). ?

Despite their short operating hrs, they are often sold out well before the stated closing time. And if you managed to place an order, be prepared to wait. A very satisfying meal portion wise, taste pretty generic for what I've ordered but having it cooked in claypot does added wok hei to the flavour, making the dish hot till the last bite. While waiting at a table nearby, the constant aroma from the cook's churning fried rice was so alluring that I think I know what to order next time.

Reached at 9.30am and there was a 1hr 15min wait on a PH Monday morning. (That should give you a gage as to when to come and how popular this place is. Plus last order was around 10am. When it comes to food, everything was fantastic. Especially the chunky pig's liver which was neither bloody nor overdone! ? Another highlight here is the sweet sour pork which was piping hot, had a crunch to the exterior and tender on the inside. I see your value now...
