DAWN - 78 South Bridge Rd

Unlike the recent reviews I've seen, I actually had a really positive experience at DAWN. The female owner (I presume) and the male barista both greeted me with eye contact and made it a point to refill my glass of water several times while I was there for about 2 hours on a weekday afternoon (even when it got busier and was fully packed later, service remained friendly). Service was polite and prompt. For those who lamented on the wait, I personally find that it's natural to have to wait for your brew and I think that is part of the entire experience. The coffee was lovely and well balanced, and will easily appeal to the palette of the majority :) The tamago sandwich took me to Japan, and the black sesame friand was something I never had before, but fell in love with especially towards my last few bites. I'm keen to try their other bakes! The only downside of this cosy space I felt was that it could get really noisy, due to the acoustics, and I would not recommend coming in bigger groups. I find that 1-2 pax is ideal :)

Cozy, rustic vibes. Definitely, you can feel the tight space, especially at the two wall-sides seats, which was where we were initially seated. You can see that this table wasn’t spacious to hold the things we ordered. The coffee and cakes are fitting of the atmosphere; rustic and comforting.

Best banana bread I've had in my life, and an atmosphere unlike any other cafe in Singapore. It's a time capsule that transports you to old Kyoto, and is full of vintage charm. Come here during working hours to avoid crowds and a more restful experience. Every piece of baked goods I've tried, the nectarine square, apple crumble and lemon pound cake are baked with heart and passion. Amazing place.

The space is sleek, the staff are focused, and everything I had was delicious. I came in the middle of the day, and had plenty of time before I needed to go to my next spot, so i was able to sit and enjoy myself for a while. There's very little seating, people aren't expected to leave, and all of the preparation takes time. If you want to sit in there, be prepared with time. For the take away orders, my observation was they try to expedite where possible, but filter coffee isn't going to be fast.

My new fav spot for coffee in Spore right now. This place brought me Japanese vibes and I really into that. A nice cozy coffee shop, that serves the greatest pastries such as Apple crumble, blueberry palette tasty friands, and so on. The drinks menu is not very varying...but I think good enough though. However, there are a few seats so you might need to wait. Overall, worth a try. Would come back again!!

Great coffee, nice blueberry galette, and cheerful lady boss. Space is quite small so you may have to wait for a seat. Raw, industrial decor with warm lighting gives a cool vibe.

A very minimalistic environment, comfortable and chill. A really convenient environment in town after our boxing/gym classes. The soft-brewed tea and home made soda was pretty nice. The toasted avocado is decent. I would hope to have more variety in the f&b department though. Overall, a pleasant and uplifting experience.

One of my favorite cafes to go in recent months. Opened by 2 very experienced baristas and offerings coffee, pastries made in-house and light meals. Love the interior with a good balance of Cold concrete and warm lighting. Highly recommend if you appreciate good coffee.
