Disappointed with the Teh Halia, too diluted and not enough milk, disappointed! Update 10/8: improved!

Very clean stall. I like the vadai and salted lassi.

The chicken biryani was good and deserved 4 stars, but hygiene may be an issue. The server picked up the papadum and collected cash with the same bare hand. Hence, minus 2 stars. Hope they can improve on this aspect cause I'll like to patronize this stall again.

Great variety of curries and dishes, very tasty. The briyani is very light and compliments the meat dishes. Generous portion for the rice set meals. The pratas are really hand stretched to fluffy consistency absorbing the curry well. Being a regular to this shop for a year now. Owner and staff are very friendly.

My dad share with me what happened few days ago. As he bought a packet of tea tarik from this stall cuz one thing i like it cuz the drink is nice and another thing is it wrong my dad just order a packet.? Somehow this stall holder will came to my dad say just a packet only why dun want to get a thosai. Normally, my dad always ordered the thosai but now, he stop buying cuz he wanted to order just the drink only. I ask you is it wrong when someone wants a drink only.???

25 jan update : masala thosai is acceptable but the potatoes is too little . the thosai is crispy. i will recommend al-hussain masala thosai with bolder taste and bigger quantity. this is not filling even for small eater chicken briyani- taste acceptable. not the best and also not that bad . the rice is fragrant but portion might not be enough if u are a big eater . chicken are served at room temperature, is not reheat or double fried- hope they can find way to keep the meat warm . price is on slightly steep side at $6

I love it. If you follow my reviews, I've walked around Hougang to find good indian prata and dosa. This is the baseline for good fluffy prata, and greatly grilled thosai/dosa. My favorite is the masala thosai which has always been grilled to crisp and the filing is nicely flavored and not too heavy. I wanted to snap a pic but always kept seating it before taking a picture for review. They also do a great childrens favorite. Paper thosai. Theirs is large and extra crispy. Pro tip : 1. don't dapau as they will wrap it and it won't be crisp. 2. ask them to skip the chutney if you order paper thosai because the chef will add it next to the thosai.
