Food quality is good especially deep fried bitter gourd pumpkin with salted eggs and not forgetting the charcoal grilled sirlion. Will be coming for more.

We've been eating here from their Chai Chee days to Geylang to now, at Jln Pemimpin. Here's exactly what you'd expect from a local tzechar restaurant - standard hearty fare, not too pricey either. Shared an assortment of dishes between 3 of us, and these were the standout dishes for us that night: 1. Seehum - Coated in an appetizing sauce, it was very addictive. Wished the hums were larger. 2. Sambal belacan sweet potato leaves - Fried to perfection with the right wok hei, goes well with rice. 3. Crispy beehoon with seafood - fresh mix of seafood morsels in a rich tasty broth poured over the noodles. Plus point: it's corkage free, with decent glassware provided. So, bring your fav bottle!

This place is really inconsistent. Some dishes are great but others are way off and even the ones which tasted wonderful can be total dud on next visit. Eg. The lobster HK mee was great but on next visit was replaced with scampi at the same price of $48 which was a total dud; overcooked and tasted flat. Pricing is a little unpredictable too but overall on the high side.. Eg the lamb chop cost almost $20 and so small it’s gone in 3 bites…

Food is average. Slightly understaffed, and the staff walks away halfway without saying anything the moment you show hesitation on what you want to order. Pretty rude. Food is not on the cheap side either, and the location is pretty out of the way although parking is convenient. Would not recommend to specially visit, but might swing by again if in the area.

Excellent signature dishes not found at regular cze char joints! Tea-Smoked Chicken: the smoky aroma hits you before the chicken reaches the table. Meat is tender and carries the unique fragrance of scorched tea leaves. The smooth skin is sinfully salty and savoury at the same time. Don't miss the pool of luscious gravy sitting on the plate after you finish. Every drop is chicken essence of wok hei.. Grilled Lamb Chop: presentation is underwhelming with the lamb perched on top of some wilted lettuce. The taste however is another story. You can tell this is premium chilled meat by its texture. Not gamey at all and has fat marbling at all the right places. The quality ingredient is doing all the cooking itself in this dish. KL Hokkien Mee (Dai Lok Meen): very few places make a decent version of this iconic Malaysian favourite. Their concoction here is authentic, being dark enough, gooey enough and rich enough. Generous crispy lard bits seal the deal. Ask for green chilli and sambal chilli. Fun Fact: throughout the meal, I tried to identify the rude service staff from Hell mentioned in the other reviews. Nobody at all fits the description.

Food is good.... Dont buy the alcoholic drinks there...low quality high price...ie the wines BYO....no corkage Must try...the grilled squid (2×) per serving and the pork leg bee boon

Taste below average. Ordered Honey sauce baby squid, Curry fish head, KL noodle, French bean tempura prawn, Ice Jelly, Beer. Only bsby squid is nice, the rest all below average

Ordered Cai Xiang Beancurd and Salted Fish Pork Belly - both dish are super salty. Dont bother about the dry roasted sotong, $24 for a small portion. The KL Hokkien is so-so. Beginging to doubt the recommendations of some social media foodie. As for the service, only the elderly aunty wears a smile and is polite. The rest of the crew were not rude as some reviewers described but they don't look like they want you there.
