Mr Liew’s lessons are always well-prepared and helpful. Mr Liew always provides us with insightful ideas and useful examples. Since English is not my native language, I barely could finish my GP paper before taking tuition. I always made a lot of grammatical mistakes and had no examples to support my points in essay. Now, I can write an essay confidently with minimal mistakes. Also, Mr Liew has also been encouraging all the time. He always guided me and corrected my mistakes patiently. It’s really a nice two-year journey with him!!!!

Every lesson, Mr Liew challenges us with either a new Compre and a new essay topic for us to tackle. During lesson, Mr Liew goes very in depth about how to tackle certain question types for paper 1 and paper 2 and guides us to choose relevant examples and evaluate them thoroughly. My GP improved from S in MYEs to a high C in prelims and I will do my best to keep up this improvement until A Lvls:)

Mr Liew is a very charismatic teacher who adopts a very systematic approach in going about his lessons. In the past 4 months at EDvolution, I have learnt numerous skills on how to manage the content that i already had, as well as learn more targeted skills for my paper 2 comprehension. Through Mr Liew's guidance, I managed to cultivate a greater curiosity for the subject, and learnt to appreciate why we study GP. With the skills gained, I managed to improve from a D to C in my mid year examinations, where this was sustained to my prelims, where i improved from a C to B.

I have been struggling with GP and was rather worried as I am taking A levels this year. However under Mr Liew's guidance, I have seen much improvements with my grades despite only attending the class for a few months. Mr Liew teaches in clear and systematic manner, going really in depth for every compre question. He also teaches us a very effective format for essay writing and conducts fruitful discussions on a wide range of essay topics. He frequently calls his students to answer his questions and never fails to clarify our doubts. Thank you Mr Liew! I really appreciate your help.

The A Level 2022 results were announced on 22Feb2022. My son and I were filled with anxiety. When Nicholas told me his results, that he scored an “A” for GP, I thought he was joking! We were overjoyed!! I still remember my first what’s app to Mr. Liew enquiring about GP tuitions for Nicholas. At that time, Nicholas was barely managing a pass in GP. I was concerned that group lessons may not be suitable for Nicholas. Mr. Liew told me that he will monitor and suggest 1-1 lessons as appropriate. Throughout the 1.5 years, Mr. Liew was patient and encouraging. Mr. Liew truly suggested a few 1-1 lessons with Nicholas. I still remember him (Nic) mentioning that the 1-1 coaching was really useful. GP is a subject that requires time to improve. Through Mr. Liew's good teaching technique and also patient encouragement, Nicholas faced his challenge with courage. We want to say a big “Thank YOU” to Mr. Liew for his persevering help in coaching Nicholas.

I initially found GP difficult as there is so much content to remember; even so, applying content to meet the demands of the essay and AQ questions is not easy. Mr Liew has patiently taught me how to analyse essay questions, so that I can adequately address every keyword in the question. The comprehension practices given covered a diverse range of topics, allowing me to be better prepared for any passage that may appear in the A levels. Mr Liew calls on every student to answer his questions, ensuring that everyone understands what he is teaching. I have improved much in GP with his help.

I am very thankful for Mr Liew's guidance in improving my GP, especially with the content and writing of GP essays. In class, Mr Liew would engage us in a diverse range of essay topics, and discussed the topic sentences and examples we could use to answer the essay question. This helped me to develop the skill of making insightful evaluations when writing essays or answering application questions. What I also found very useful is Mr Liew's focus and guidance on the use of language (the way of writing) to convey one's point in a persuasive manner. Mr Liew also frequently encouraged us to paraphrase words and introduced new words for us to learn, which helped me a lot in expanding my vocabulary. All in all, my grades improved tremendously under Mr Liew's utmost guidance.

GP is no doubt a daunting subject to me, especially when English is not my native language. Things started to change after I joined Mr Liew's class, as his lessons are very well-structured and engaging. The detailed and informative notes given are a reflection of the fact that he puts a great deal of effort into teaching. Mr Liew, THANK YOU for being such a dedicated and caring teacher! Your words of encouragement definitely made my GP journey less daunting :)) I am so happy that I eventually scored an A in GP!
