Went there for the Peranakan lunch buffett. Nothing is short of excellent in terms of the quality of food and interior decoration. I would however rate the quality of service a 4 star because of insufficient staff and has to wait some time to get the attention of the waiters and waitresses as they are scurrying all over the place to take orders, serve customers and serve food. All said, they were very polite and professional. In terms of food, I would rate the Laksa best followed by Kueh Pie Tee and the Durian Pengat!

Just awful service and food quality. Please do not even attempt to eat here even if there are seats available. Side dishes are bland & tasteless, especially those so-called wok-fried vegetables. Texas bbq wings were overcooked, homemade seafood tofu were over-fried, grilled oysters with cheese came with free sandy crunches. B4 covid there was still a certain standard but post-covid, everything served to the table were limited to small miserable half-filled bowls and beyond pathethic service. Had to constantly swing/wave my arms with great efforts to get the server’s attention. There were 3 servers in sight but in actual fact only 2 of them were doing their rounds with half-hearted attitude and disgruntled faces. Spoke to Peter Yeng the supervisor but he didn’t even show an ounce of service recovery from him. He just gave a non-chalant reply in a deadpan tonation with a straight face. Well so long Ellenborough. Name sounds atas but the food cum service is simply atrocious. We would never ever patronize this cafe again.

It’s the time of the year again for delicious festive dishes and this Christmas so glad to hear that Ellenborough Market Cafe that has specially curated a wide spread of Christmas delights to ignite every of our senses. This ala cart buffet, I tried Lobster Bisque, Honey Baked Ham, Roasted Tom Turkey, *Stout-glazed Black Angus Short Ribs and Natural Jus, Ayam Buah Keluak, Singapore Laksa with River Prawn, Satay and a platter of seafood variety. Lastly bursting my stomach and ending it sweetly with Christmas Fruit Cake, Chestnut Mont Blanc, Durian Pengat, Citrus Strawberry Pistachio Gateau, Chendol and more. Specially love the Lobster Bisque, Ayam Buah Keluak, Satay, Chendol and Durian Pengat. Service is good and attentive. Ig: @zoey_belle_

Had a dinner with colleagues. Not too crowded and food is being served very quickly. Very polite waitress, Miss Cindy.. The taste is good for most of the food we tried. Price is a bit at high side but I think it's still worth to visit.

Very good service and individual portions served for buffet. Babi ponteh is worth ordering for seconds. Soft shell crab with salted egg sauce and the pasta with mentaiko sauce are worth ordering as a main. Came in smaller bowls and therefore worthwhile ordering for seconds. For durian lovers, this is a haven for those who can order multiple portions. Salmon and maguro were also reasonably fresh. Peranakan food served was generally reasonably good.

This hotel has been around for decades and Ellenborough is a gem!! The buffet spread is amazing. The food is fresh and the selection is pretty large! And my favorite item on the menu is their famous Durian Pengat!

There’s always a reason why its recommended by people but yet rating is still low…. I finally understand why. Price is worth for the environment but not the food and service hence dun justify it. Service is a failure, taste is so so. Variety is good.

Beautifully designed Peranakan restaurant with a huge space for comfortable dining. We had the lunch buffet here, the selections and the taste were pretty average - typical Asian fare, the taste of the local dishes isn't too different from the hawkers. My favourites were the Thai Red Curry Pork, the Grilled Fish, the Pasta, and the Lady's Finger with chili (with a really strong spice!). The upside is the smaller serving sizes, allowing us to sample many different dishes - great for those who like variety. Overall, it's okay.
