β β β β β Went there to takeaway dinner for my family. Most of the stalls are closed. The remaining stalls priced within affordable range. The Chi Char stall food is very nice after eating

β β β β β Sept 4, 2021 Sunny Saturday.
Decided to jog from Jurong Lake to Botanic Garden via Holland Road.
Quite a tough route due to many traffic junctions and up slopes.
Passed by Empress Market where neighbourhood can enjoy daily needs and hawker food.
Completed my 39th half marathon in 2021.

β β β β β First time stepping into this hawker centre.
Saw a few chicken rice stall but choose traditional chicken rice at #01-78 as is having a $2 promotion. A very decent portion. To my surprise, Is nice, soup is nice too.
Wasn't burning a hole in our pocket for Hainanese chicken lovers right.

β β β β β Enjoyed my plump and juicy wanton that goes very well with the springy and chewy noodles from Ah Wing Wanton Mee. Their mushrooms shredded chicken hor fun has a very flavorful sauce and the dumplings soup is super yummy too.
Desserts were great too and overall, a very satisfying lunch.

β β β β β Visited Empress Market for the first time. Prata was nice. There are interesting stalls here. We also bought θεΉ², made from minced meat so it's not too hard for kids and old folks. Oh! And the freshly made doughnuts, simply coated with icing sugar.
I'll have to come again to try the others. The θ―ζι±Όζ±€ caught my attention. And it says fried fish is η°ηΈη°ε.
Here are some photos of stalls available here at 9am. Noticed many stalls not opened yet. Probably they would open later.

β β β β β A medium size hawker with wet market in the same location.
Loved the variety of food stalls in this compact hawker - muslim, bbq, noodle/rice, drink stalls, pastries, etc. My favorite includes the pork rib soups, ice cendol, you tiao, and the Indonesian food stalls - and still need to try other stalls. Prices seems to be reasonable.
Also checked out nearby bakery, frozen meat/seafood, fruit stalls, and recently open coffee shop - Croco.
It's close by from Farrer Rd MRT and right next door to the D'Leedon complex.
