Equinix Data Center SG3 - 26A Ayer Rajah Crescent

Remote place but have some good local food at nearby Ayer Rajah Industrial area.

Had a visit to the Data centre. Was only allowed to the demo room and the conference room. Was nice to see how the data is being stored and how much maintenance goes in the background

Its just a data centre code named SG3. Many levels of security with x-ray metal detectors to pass through and strictly by granted access. Nothing special and easily missed by people not sure about where its located. 5 minutes walk from one-north MRT station.

Their staff does not have any common sense. My access is raise from 12noon onwards, i arrive infront of the counter at 11:50 am. And they refuse to let me in, saying can only process my access from 12pm onwards. So by the time i reach the cage, its 10mins late. And today is not even crowded. If there is a queue, the delay would have been much longer...

We're renting a hardware managed by PNAP running inside this facility since Feb. The network connectivity so far has been superb. Keep it up.

While some Equinix locations are flagship, this one is terrible. Time and time again, support staff throw roadblocks in the way of customers rather than attempting to assist them in resolving issues. Expect to have to file 3 to 4 tickets and 8-14 days to get anything of any consequence done short of a power cycle, and even then the staff they assign really aren't very knowledgeable compared to the half a dozen other Equinix locations I've dealt with. The shipping and receiving is always an absolute zoo, they simply won't staff it enough to serve the customers with any degree of efficiency or speed. Expect to have to stand around behind a dozen other folks waiting to pickup packages, which is an area outside of the secured one, so it is a pain to get back and forth from it to your racks/hardware. Considering that Equinix is always the most expensive datacenter option and is supposed to be the flagship brand, this site is the opposite. Avoid using any remote hands if at all possible, and plan to use a third party to bring in your hardware because the shipping and receiving is just as problem
