Was wondering what's up with the perpetual queue at this kway chap store. Now that I've tried, I can understand why. Ordered mixed kway chap for 2 with 2 bowls of kway. And when I asked how much was my order, the lady boss replied- $6. I was surprised and she asked if I wanted anything else. So I added the tau kee and braised peanuts. All for just $8! That's not all. The kway chap was fairly tasty and it was the kway that stole the show. It's thin, soft and flavoursome! I honestly don't mind to just have a bowl of kway... ?

This stall has just overtook to be my no.1 must go kway chap. Apart from the value for money pricing, I must empathize that the owner do not compromise on the way he prepare the food. The are innards are well clean and nicely braised, although I would much prefer a darker braised but it also an individual preference. Just look at how he prepare the kway! He carefully cook them in boiling water before giving it a quick wash in the soup. They kway is so thin and smooth to the best of my liking. That's the reason why Feng Ji overtook other as top of my kway chap list.

A stall chucked away in the countryside that offers fantastic traditional kway chap. The gravy that comes with the kway is rich in taste, topped with finely chopped shallots and cilantro. Pig innards are well cleaned and braised, doesn't have that foul smell. Chilli sauce is a thoughtful mix. Would be better if the kway is cut into smaller pieces to slide down the throat. Staff were friendly village folks. Opens only in the early part of the day and you had to queue. Took them a good half hour to serve 7-8 persons in front of me, which almost made me changed my mind. If you don't mind the queue and got lots of time to spare, this is the breakfast stall to go.

Enjoyed the kway chap set ($2.50) with extra large intestines ($2.50) and extra pork belly ($1). The meat was warm and the broth had depth and was slightly herbal. The pork belly was fresh and had good balance of fat and meat.

Kampong Arang is a lesser known hawker center near the Dunman area, and much quieter compare to the nearby old airport road hawker. I enjoy coming here for breakfast as the food is good, and the queue for the anchor tenants are relatively short. Feng Ji's kway chap is nice and their set meal is value for money. The kway is thin and silky smooth, and the broth tasty yet not too salty. I will go for the set meal most of the time, but this does not include some of the more exotic items such as the big intestines (大肠头), which I must say it's really worth paying just a bit extra.

The kway 粿 was probably the best that I have tasted - it was silky smooth, soft and in a tasty broth. The ingredients, however, were not exceptional though. The pork belly and small intestines were quite hard and tasteless. The large intestines were well braised though. Prices were very reasonable. Stall owners were hygenic, pleasant and accepted e-payment.

The Kway Chap set ($2.50) is really value for money and with added pork belly ($1.00) it's the icing on the cake. Very friendly lady boss and overall worth the waiting. Must try if you are coming to this neighbourhood hawker centre.

Hidden gem in a secluded neighbourhood hawker centre. Kway chap was cheap with generous serving. Braised sauce was savoury and not overpowered by spices. Pork belly was very tender and well-infused in the aromatic braise, so were the egg and innards. Pig skin could be better cooked as I found it to be too soft. Kway was fantastically silky and smooth, served in lightly herbal broth drizzled with garlic oil.
