Great Fishballs especially the mushroom fishballs which were very firm with good bite. Liked the crispy sticks which I think is fried bean curd skin. Although the noodles were cooked well the sauce was too oily and lack flavour.

Michelin Bib Gourmand Randomly browse thru Google Review and decide to try. Friendly cashier (owner). Affordable and hygiene. Fishball is soft and bouncing. Fried fish is crispy. Fish cake slightly salty and Noodle slightly tough but overall taste was ok.

After reading so much about Fishball Story, wifey and I decided to pay them a visit; after all, the shop is just 5 minutes drive from my home. We were there at 10:30am - rather quiet place. Hmmm…. Apparently, fishball noodles is a β€œchoice diet” of the Teochews. Wifey used to like fishball noodles until she switched her liking to Bak Chor Mee (BCM). I still remember days when she drove all the way to Jurong Point to eat the gigantic fishball (noodles). Teochew Fishball Noodle is normally rather bland (ζΈ…) unlike BCM which is very flavorful. We ordered their Signature Noodle @ $5.90 each. The fishballs, though nice, were bouncy on the outside but too soft inside, which meant they were a tad undercooked. Fish Dumpling (ι±ΌθƒΆ) was very good, unfortunately only one piece per serving. The fried Fish Cake Slices were springy and delicious. However, the servings were inconsistent - 3 slices in one bowl but only 2 slices in the other. The Meepok was just alright, not the al dente texture that we preferred. But the good thing was the inclusion of deep fried towkee strips in the noodle, which made it special. Although there was a pot of pork lard and oil in front of the chef (I was watching the entire preparation process), he did not scoop any pork lard onto the noodles until I requested him to. Maybe that’s the way the Teochew like their food - not too oily. We were sitting next to an elderly Teochew Lady who was enjoying her noodles and kopi. She lived nearby. And she eats 1 to 2 meals of the fishball noodles each day! It’s like her daily diet! She was telling us the stall is very well patronized during lunch hour (crowded). The Circuit Road Outlet will be serving their last meals on 14th July 2022, as they are relocating to Bugis Junction (apparently they are there already). I was asking why moving out, it seemed the the landlord wanted the premises for their own use. Rather sad isn’t it? After establishing a name at this location and they got to move again.

Ordered their signature with fish dumpling noodle. Enjoyed the lovely lunch and if you are a big eater; the portion served may not be enough. The soup is light but very flavorful, the ingredients added to your bowl are fantastic and especially the beancurd skin with fish paste.

Newly opened along Bugis Junction street level. Was previously at multiple locations such as Golden Mile and Circuit Road. Douglas (owner) himself is present almost everyday to oversee operations and be involved in the preparations and cooking. Fishballs are all handmade in a central kitchen. They do taste very authentic, without flour and additional seasoning. All the regular types of noodles are available. They diversified to offer yong tau foo and laksa as well to cater to a wider crowd. $5.90 for a bowl makes sense. The amount is just right. Waiting time can get pretty long though. Might not be my go to fishball noodles around this area as there are plenty of cheaper and slightly better options around. But definitely worth a try!

My colleague ordered Signature Fish Ball Noodles for the team. The most outstanding item will be the ingredients, especially the deep fried fishcake sticks and fish cakes are very chewy and fragrant. However, it’s slightly spicy, will be great to separate the chilli oil for individual preference. Also, the takeaway packaging is very portable where it separates the soup and noodle but in one container. Thank you for the yummy food and continue to enlighten our tummies!

Not too bad but the the process of cooking is rather too slow. Not sure why as I came over lunch time, we waited 30 mins for our food where there’s not so crowded. The seats quite limited and prefer a stronger chili paste with more vinegar. The noodle cooked to perfection and is springy. Fish ball soup is good. Love the fish ball with well balance of the flavour and it is bouncy! Ordered the fried Liang tofu, it is rather too oily and nothing special. I would say an average place for fish ball noodle!

This new branch of Fishball Story has really good service. My wife and I ordered two toast sets, with one cup of milo being kosong, they accidentally made one of the milo not kosong. However, when they received our feedback, they immediately changed the milo to a normal kosong for us. In terms of food quality, the half-boiled eggs were perfect. The toast was soft and crunchy, with generous portions of kaya and butter. While it is strange to review a mee pok shop for its toast set, to be able to make good quality meals from their side menu, shows their dedication to quality. Highly recommended!
