Kids going door to door targeting elderly selling $10 vouchers under the false pretence of charity. Sad to say my mum is one of the victims.

My mom also got scammed by 2 young boys claiming to sell their vouchers for charity. Made our way down only to find it closed. Spoke to people around the neighborhood and they say that this shop rarely open at all. There should be a way to report them to authorities.

Yup, my mom fell for it too. Bunch of young boys were selling it around my neighbourhood area (bukit batok). My mom didn’t read much into it since she thought it was for charity purposes and she wanted to help the boys. Beware of them, make sure to always research into the charity you’re donating to first so that your money can make a more meaningful difference.

Was approached by students from Ngee Ann poly (they mentioned what they doing is not associated with NP) to buy vouchers and 20% of the proceeds will be donated to charity. No NCSS license since they were selling something and it is not counted as a donation. They mentioned it is the last day they are in the area (no way to verify) I gave $10 but did not want the vouchers since the place is at Sembawang and since it is sort of a donation. Only saw the review below that there was a minimum spending. Now I am not sure if the $10 will go to Serambi or Eskimo. I googled eskimo seafood and there is a Facebook but a bit sketchy… I googled serambi and there is no such charity in Singapore.

This is a review on their food voucher sold as a product for the charity. My mother bought 3 ten dollars vouchers to "buy seafood and give to charity" as she was told by the salesmen. Now, only 1 voucher can be used per purchase and delivery is $8. That'll mean 3 purchases.... and only 20% of the FIRST PURCHASE is donated to serambi. She did charity, I'll help make the purchase. Do I buy some crabs? Maybe I'll save and purchase something cheap. Let's say a pack of fishballs. $4 + delivery is a total of $12. 80cents will be for charity. Everything else is revenue. At least $35.20 will go to fresh Eskimo ; I'll get 3 packs of fish balls. This is my mother buying seafood for charity.

Beware of voucher sales hidden behind the pretext of charity! Similar to another reviewer, my father was misled by two male youths knocking on the door selling these vouchers claiming that 20% of the sales would go to Serambi as charity. That is a misleading claim for they deliberately left out details on how the charity part works. So please insist on reading the T&Cs printed on the vouchers before you make the decision to buy. On the front of each $10 voucher my father received, it states: -$10 & 10% off first purchase! -20% of first purchase will be pledged to serambi! (UEN T19SS0092E) On the back, it states: -All vouchers are limited to one voucher per transaction only. -This voucher is valid for Three months from the date of issuance. -Vouchers are not exchangeable for cash. -Islandwide delivery at the rate of $8 flat. -Fresh eskimo reserves the right to amend validity date of vouchers or reject vouchers in order to protect the interests of the company or under circumstances of abuse. In summary, do not be misled into thinking that 20% of the sales from the vouchers go to Serambi Seni organisation. It is 20% of what you spend on your first purchase at Fresh Eskimo that is pledged to Serambi. You also cannot combine vouchers in one purchase so that is just $10 off your bill's total using one voucher. As to whether these vouchers are legit in the first place, I have yet to verify.

Similar experience as earlier reviews, my mum (almost 70) was misled into buying the vouchers, twice, by different youths doing door-to-door sales of the vouchers. They say that the sale proceeds of the voucher will go to charity. Recently another stall used the same marketing scheme (20% of sales goes to charity etc), its called "thefruitsrockefeller". I only realize it when I keep getting such vouchers from my mum and questioned her (this is the third time). What's even more misleading with this stall is that there is a legit charity organization by the name "The Rockefeller Foundation". Beware and inform people around you.
