Ordered Chicken and Mutton Briyani and the Mutton Briyani is awesome. Not sure if the rice is too little or the Mutton is just too good that I gobbled every grain of rice. ? Try to go early as it sells out fast and mutton sells out even faster. Was in queue at around 1pm and manage to snatch the last few plates of mutton. Prepare to queue during lunch hours but they are quite fast in serving.

Small chicken meat, the size smaller than a chick and rice portions for kids compared elsewhere and overpriced. Standard drop a lot and been patronizing this store back in early 80's. For the price of a chicken at $6 for a nasi briyani, I rather eat elsewhere larger meat and more rice portion. Honestly, nothing to shout about, cheap cooking with less effort. Won't be coming back anymore and so are many of friends whom have been buying for many years. Be careful, additional charge of $0.50 for separate bags but not sure if this is for the meat or the main bag.

Tasted so so. Price at $7. But, a small chicken leg. Not worth the value. The price could have gotten anyone at least a decent fish portion and 2 vegetables at another hawker centre that's nearby. Popular or famous, either way ... no service or friendliness at all.

First time trying this stall. Bought the $6 mutton briyani home. The rice is slightly fragrant with a tinge of sweetness. The mutton is not very big but otherwise soft and tender and not gamey. Not bad but if the rice is more fragrant, it will be perfect.

Edit: Finally got to dine in here and tried the Ayam goreng and mutton options. Mutton was flavourful but a little dry and tough. The Ayam goreng was great. It wasn’t particularly crispy but it was packed full of flavour from the marinade. Meat was tender too - impressive! The rice on its own isn’t actually very fragrant. With the masala, it’s great. The dhal this time is much more balanced in favours too. For this visit, plum pickle was provided. It brought a sense of fruitiness and sweetness to the dish - seemingly replacing the role that raisins would normally play in traditional briyani. This was a relatively good experience overall. 5 stars. - This is my first visit to this popular biryani stall. As it was during P2HA, I had to takeaway. But as we all know, biryani to go will still taste good, if not even better. I got home and was pleased that the biryani was still warm. For two portions of mutton biryani, it came with one bag of dahl. Dahl wasn’t particularly good in my opinion, not a fan. The rice was light and fragrant. The masala gravy delicious. Mutton tender but just a bit gamier than I like it, but still good. Flavours are a little sweeter due to the plums(?) instead of raisins used. I was keen to try the Ayam goreng but that was unavailable at around 1pm on a Saturday. The regular Ayam was not available too, but a new batch was being prepared then. Do come earlier to have a wider variety to choose from.

After reading many reviews by food bloggers and others, I decided to give Hamid's Geylang Briyani a try. There were many people in the queue but the queue moved fast as the rice with chicken as well as gravy have already been packed separately. So I did takeaway and ate once I got home. The chicken was dry and flavourless while the rice and gravy were okay reasonably tasty. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the expectations as this is very average chicken briyani. Pardon the unappetizing photo as I thought of taking a photo of the chicken only when more than halfway done. It's unfortunate that some stalls ride on good online reviews and become complacent, producing mediocre food that are totally not worth the price nor time spent commuting and queuing.

Was drawn by the many reviews to this briyani store. However, the experience was lackluster, the mutton was too small a serving and quite tough. The dahl was thick but had one dimensional flavour.
