It was an overall great experience for us. We ordered the beef tartare (it was great!), rigatoni ala carbonara (also great!), and piavra (octopus - could be better. A bit bland for us). Despite that, everything was nice. The place was nice. The staff, too! Even took a picture of David because he was a great host. Also ordered a bottle of wine, Il Ponte, to add to the experience.

All the dishes we ordered were amazing: baked scallops, parma ham pasta, fried pizza with parha ham, and burrata caprese. The highlight was the baked salmon: it was cooked perfectly with such a delicious sauce! Be sure to ask for the homemade bread with homemade butter. The butter has just the right kind of saltiness! Good service. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Cozy place with good service. The wine selection is good! Tried the fried bread, pumpkin ravioli, carbonara and beef cheek. From my perspective the carbonara was very Al dante and felt more like a mac & cheese. The beef cheek gave me an atas corned beef feel. The pumpkin ravioli with brown butter was unique and peasant. Fried bread was different but nice to try. Overall was a good experience.

At Gio you get one dozen tortellini for S$34. That is very pricey and not enough for a dinner. But it is delicious! 5 stars if it would have been 2 dozen tortellini. A bit irritating I found that they poor Prosecco into red wine glasses. The service was very professional, friendly and fast.

Was lucky to get a seat on a Friday night without reservations and we had no regrets! We were served with complimentary bread as our appetiser. Really loved their infused butter but felt that the bread would be better served warm. There was nothing to shout about on the bread as I felt that the texture is a bit too dense to my liking - but it had bits of salt and spices in it that made it tasty! The fried pizza was something different as the dough was not something I’ve had before. It was a mixture of hot & cold dish - and the owner nicely explained that the dough is served hot but the toppings are cold on purpose. I really enjoyed this combination - the toppings we had (burrata cheese & tomato confit garlic) was just amazing! I personally didn’t enjoy the carbonara as it was too salty to my liking. Rest assured there was no salt in this traditional carbonara as the saltiness comes completely from the cheese & pork. Maybe I’m just used to the conventional β€œfake” ones ? What I enjoyed the most was the swordfish! Juicy and the olive crumbs that goes with is was perfect. Loved the ambience tho it can get noisy for conversations but the service was excellent! Really loved how the owner will go around asking everyone about their food. Will be back for more!

Glad to have found such amazingly authentic Italian cuisine in Singapore. Both the restaurant staff and owners go the extra mile in making you feel at home, and I would most certainly be back to try more dishes. Highly recommend the pumpkin ravioli, which had a wonderful balance of sweet, savory and umami. There are options for both smaller or fuller pasta portions, with the smaller portions being perfect for a party of 2.

Awesome food! Can I just say fried pizza? It is the best thing you’re gonna eat anywhere! The pasta was awesome too, and had a really well made aperol spritz. Can’t wait to come back!
