Got a 1-Day honor to serve as the Personal Chauffeur (PC) to the Chairman and his lady. They are both a nice couple to begin with. Chairman is 78 years old while his lady has got a fracture at the arm, so there’s an additional care item to lookout for. As a PC to this senior couple, one should adopt and exercise the core values of Caring, Alert, Responsible and Ethical (CARE). Caring - Caring for Passengers' Safety Welfare Alert - Be alert to surrounding environment affecting them Responsible -Practice Safe and Responsible Driving, Lives are at stake Ethical - Do not listen nor interrupt in conversations The PC day's duty starts (0900 hrs) and ends (1800 hrs) (1300 hrs for Saturdays) at their residence which is a 800 metres walk from bus stops (67019 or 67011), it would be convenient if PC have his/her own mode of transport. PC’s duty in the morning is much involved in the assistance at marketing, ie. Sending them to markets nearby their residence (assistance in lift and carry may be needed) before adjourning to the office. While at the office, it is the PC’s duty and responsibilities to upkeep the cleanliness of the vehicle – not so much on dust-free but mud-free as there might be deposits over the vehicle with birds’ droppings during the market’s visit. As a bonus - do note that the vehicle has been washed by their DFWs in the mornings. During lunch-time, the couple might travel out for lunch; these locations could be pre-set with Google Maps’ settings to facilitate safe and familiar driving. There will be occasional trips to the banks as well as collecting/dispatch of documents to other business partners (using staff vehicles). There will be usual early dismissals during weekdays so as to accumulate sufficient time-gain to cover the wait-time during Chairman’s golf game on a Saturday. The Chairman's golf game takes place at a common tee-off ground (golf course / country club) which is easy to navigate and not difficult to drive to. The cut-and-cover of work hours will be mutual between the PC and Chairman while the unused for the week will be written-off to the advantage of the PC. A point to note for the PC - Chairman has his personal point of views in road safety, route-of-choice to certain destinations; the PC need to take in his opinions at heart or perhaps making checks with him prior adjourn. At times where Chairman have to entertain with drinks, it is the responsibility of the PC to drive and send and work hours will be compensated. Note: The PC should not drink before and during his duty. During the period when Chairman does not utilize the PC, the PC reports to the MD, the Managing Director. The MD may require the PC for lunch appointments at locations where parking are scare, this is to facilitate drop-and-go and returning for a pick-up. The PC might also need to ferry the MD to Guan Chuan's participating work sites. The PC is responsible and liable for his daily road safety driving etiquette and behaviors while paying proper respect and regards to traffic regulations and violations. Note: The PC should have enough rest before his driving duty the next day. It will be a good practice for the PC to maintain a Driving Log Sheet, for disputes and verification. Had a great learning day being a PC. Guan Chuan is a nice place and environment to work in for those with keen participation as a PC to Guan Chuan’s Chairman.
