β β β β β We came here on an educational family tour during the day. The market was empty since most of the dealings are done in the wee hours. However we got to see the market from far (it was rather hot that day). The young man who conducted the tour was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about seafood. My 2 girls (even myself) learnt more about seafood! We learned on how to clean a squid and how to eat steamed whole fish the correct way so that you don't get the bones, Aha! You can come here to buy their frozen items (also available on Redmart). Do check on their website if you are interested in their early morning tour to see the hustle and bustle of the local fish market!

β β β β β Joined the guided tour which started on Saturday 1:30am - 3:30am. It was a interesting educational tour. The organizer showed the group around the fishery port, explained the port operation, fishery trade, fish species and answered all questions at his best. Strongly recommended!

β β β β β Joined the walking tour conducted by Hai Sia on the 13th of April 2018. It was insightful and a eye opening experience for my family and children. Melvin from Hai Sia was very knowledgeable and the sharing from him was very refreshing and captivating.
We got to know alot more of the fishery and how the market works and journey our fishes take from various parts of the world.
My school going children enjoyed the walking tour very much and can't wait to share what they have learnt and seen with their friends.
????? for the effort put in by Hai Sia to organise the tour at no cost to consumers.

β β β β β The Jurong Fishery Port tour is a great after-dark experience of Singapore! Guide for the night, Han Bin, together with his colleagues, led an hour+ long informative and insightful tour of the port and fish market that Hai Sia calls home. Enlightening to learn about how the fishery industry works through close-knit relationships. It's an eye-opening deep dive into how the food gets on your table. Get yourself on the waitlist!

β β β β β One-of-a-kind tour which opened up my eyes to the people who worked through the night to bring us our fresh fish and seafood to the tables, and how they are transported from various places to Singapore. Kudos to them! Jun Ting and Han Bin, conducted the tour in an engaging and interactive way, thus there was never a dull moment as they answered various questions from the group. It is very heartwarming to see two passionate, young chaps in an unconventional trade and I hope they can take it to greater heights. Definitely worth missing a few hours of sleep for a fruitful way to spend Saturday morning!

β β β β β Can't get enough of the tour! My family and I enjoyed the exclusive and educational tour of Jurong Fishery Port. For the past 51 years, the first fishery port in SG see large imports of fish daily. I learned real-life economics of how demand and supply drives pricing across the market. Particularly intrigued by the abundance of fresh fishes and seafood spread out across the market. I have a new found respect for all fish wholesalers who puts up with the fishy scent, sacrificing sleep over work and the long hours they put in everyday. Makes me cherish my seafood more now. Thank you Han Bin and colleagues for bringing us on the tour!

β β β β β Great experience led by friendly, involved and interesting guides. My son had a great time asking questions, and answering them. It's difficult to run a tour in the midst of an ongoing business day, but Melvin and his colleague managed it with minimum disruption and maximum information. It helps that the vendors were also involved and interested in letting us explore their domain as well. Definitely helps that Hai Sia has a good relationship with the traders. If there are things that I would want more of, they are a chance to interact with the traders and understand their perspective on the fisheries business and how it has changed over time. Or the chance to walk around with Hai Sia buyers as they select and choose fish from the various vendors. Even without these the tour was very well done.

β β β β β I learned about the Hai Sia public tour about 6 months ago and was so excited since I booked a trip to Singapore with my mom. Melvin was the one who responded to me and he was incredibly patience with all my questions. I chased him down a couple months later right before my trip and was so incredibly happy when Melvin confirmed they would be hosting another public tour during our stay in Singapore. It turned out Melvin was our guide and he did a great job providing an interesting and educational tour regarding the fishing industry in Singapore as well as insights into the daily operation at the fishery port.
It is heartbreaking to learn that many has exited the industry because the younger generation is more accustomed to a certain type of fish like salmon or halibut in filet form (not the whole fish) which contributes to the shrinking of the fish market in Singapore.
Living in the US, I can only dream of seeing such huge selection of fishes here in the market. I highly recommend this tour. Bring your friends, family and kids! See the fish market comes to life at midnight! Let Hai Sai opens your eyes to a whole new world of fishes!!
