Overall tze char foods are decent. However, the fried rice was terrible. Way too dry and tasteless, it even smell burnt and overcooked. Have tried it several times but no improvement at all.

Food is decent but unpleasant to dine in. Family owned business so mother sometimes can be seen shouting at the children who are also the waiters. Dish collection area is near dining area so when they are in a bad mood, dish collection and keeping of plates is like a lion dance performance.

Wanted to try out this new coffeeshop for a while. Ordered the fu jian mian, the dark soy sauce was too overpowering for me. I will definitely still try the other vendors.

Chanced upon this shop at Ubi on a rainy day, decided to give it a try and to our surprise, the food was quite good here. They sells set meal chicken rice + soup at $5.50. I ordered steamed chicken rice and lotus root & pork ribs soup. The rice was full of yellow oil, but is was not too oily or too hard, very fragrant instead. You could just eat such kind of rice without any dishes. The chicken was cooked perfectly, meat was tender and juicy. The lotus root soup is filled with ingredients, pork ribs, lotus roots, peanuts, dried cuttlefish and red dates. The soup was robust, pork ribs were tender, lotus roots were crunchy, and the soup was just comforting in flavor. It brought me back to the nostalgic days of my childhood.

Small coffeeshop at the corner of blk 342 with a lot of food choices. Run by a Malaysian couple and sometimes you see their young kids helping out. What you can eat here:- 1) HK Roasted delights like chicken, roasted duck, pork rice. The meat are delicious and tender, freshly made every morning. My favorite here is the wanton noodles. Noodles are 'Q' and char siew is juicy, quite a popular choice here. 2) In the morning, you have economical fried meehoon with several adds on. 3) In the early afternoon, there is also the daily freshly made bak kut keh with several side dishes to choose from. Popular choice with families having lunch. 4) Mala hotpot. You choose what you want to eat, and charged accordingly to weight. Ingredient choices are quite decent. 5) Stewed soup such as water cress soup, lotus root pork ribs soup, etc 6) In the afternoons, you can order zi char here. Selections are quite a bit too. Overall decently priced and you can call to order in advance for pickup. Limited seating area because of the space. Open daily till around 1030pm. They are also available on Foodpanda and Deliveroo for takeaways.

quiet corner coffeeshop in the ubi area. Wide range of variety of food, ranging from chicken rice and roast pork to Ba Kut Teh (pork ribs soup) and johor styled zi char menu. The braised stew pork is on the sweeter side. Although the side dishes for the Ba Kut Teh menu looks affordable, the portions are really small. Overall pleasant experience, good and personalised service by the owners.

A small coffeeshop at the fringe of Ubi HDB estate and the industrial estates/ offices close by. Happened to walk by for a quick meal and pleasantly surprised by the quality of the roasted meats here. Char siew, roasted pork rice for $4.50 with decent chunks of meat. The roasted pork’s skin was crackling! The cuts of meat were well balanced too, although I found the braised sauce a little too sweet. The accompanying bowl of soup was also served extremely hot which was comforting for the belly. Will eat again if I’m in the area. They need to pay a little more attention to hygiene though.
