Happy Fish Swim School (Bedok) - #01-03

My daughter Ava started beginner lessons from 8months onwards with her father.she totally loved coach Kat and enjoyed the fun format of the sessions! Both Daddy and daughter gained water confidence in how to handle infant in water and baby experiencing the water. definitely a great experience.

We’ve been sending the kids for lesson for more than 2 years :) A great place to have my toddlers learn swimming. Staffs are friendly, environment is safe and clean and the coaches are great (special shout-out to Coach Fern for her passion and patience with my kids)!

My 3yo toddler has been attending HF with her daddy, since she was an infant and has very good experience learning from Coach Doyle. He is nothing but encouraging and knows how to handle infants/toddlers. My kid has gained confidence learning from him. My toddler is still learning from him. Thank you very much Coach Doyle. We wanted to arrange for my infant to learn under Coach Doyle but his classes are full. So we didnt mind and put the infant under another Coach in Bedok. We observed that he follows the "syllabus" in a very rigid manner and is very "by-the-book". He doesnt customise his lessons according to how the infants are during the session. The very last straw that made me pause the lessons for my infant, was that there was a total of 17 times of "pouring of water over the head" and submerging in water, in that 30 mins lesson. If you have attended HF lessons, a SOP in lessons will be saying the cue words "XX, ready, go", that is to prepare the child for submerging or pouring water over head. My infant who loves water, coughed and cried that session. So we decided to pause all of my infant's lessons and hope to arrange for another lesson under another coach. This is the start of my frustration. 1) There is no contact number to reach the coordinators. You have to wait for them to call you. When i missed their call, i have to wait for them to call me back again. 2) Under one whatapp channel, i have different coordinators handling my two kids' swimming matters. The assigned coordinator for each of my child is not able to help me with matters pertaining to other child. So when i finally get to talk to the coordinator over the phone to handle matters regarding my elder child, she cannot help with issues concerning my younger one. 3) They give one suggested timing of a suitable class, at one time. This means that: (i) Suggested timing of one class (ii) I check my family and husband's schedule, then let them know that the suggested timing doesn't work. (iii) Then they need to check for another class So this process takes more than a week. Every time i request for all possible timings of suitable classes that my younger child can attend, and they come back with one class timing. I have paused the swimming class in January. Until today, we have yet to settle the timings. Refer to attachments of me always asking for timings of classes one shot. 4) My elder child qualified for a one-min milestone video as she did not activate her makeup class credits. So we received the email that we could book a timing for the milestone videography. In the email, it was stated that slots opened 2 weeks in advance. We wanted to arrange the photoshoot in March holidays. When i login to check on 2nd March, the slots during March holidays are alr full, but i could book a slot on 30 March. This means that slots are opened more than 2 weeks in advance. I have waited since Jan to book a slot but because of misinformation provided by coordinators/email, As i looked back at my WA messages, there was so much frustration when dealing with the Happy Fish. When families are coping with the disruption brought by Covid, this is the last thing that we need to be handling. I really urged the management of HF to relook at your processes in the comms and engagement of stakeholders. It doesn't have to be complicated. Parents sign their kids at HF with the simple intention of letting kids learn swimming and it should be an enjoyable process. Can you make this an enjoyable process and not so painful?

Happy Fish @ Bedok has heated pool. Rain or shine the swimming lessons will still carry on unless Govt restrictions prevent the lessons from carrying on. Coach Fern has been very good at training the kids. Very patient and kind.

This Happy Fish Swim School has some serious problems. They changed their class details after receiving payment and offered options that does not consider client and after raising concerns over several days of no response, they finally responded that they will refund. In their SMS response, They responded saying that will refund fees within 7-14 days, and 14 days later there is no refund. Its a company that consumer cannot trust. Those who believe them due to their marketing should Beware of their credibility and bad management. I'm a parent who sent my child for lessons for 1 semester. Their management of make up class is really bad. Parents should be warned and not fall for the marketing.

My girl is always excited attending swimming lesson with Coach Fen. Coach Fen is gentle and professional willing to go extra miles if she sees fits to her students , and the student is willing to learn more strokes and swimming techniques. I remember before we couldn't even let her stand or be in the pool by herself. And now, she can swim confidently and we are just watching her. Thank you very much Coach Fen and happy fish team Bedok. I’m an adult learning to swim and I chose Happy Fish for its private pool and privacy for lessons. They matched me with Coach Desmond and I must say he’s fantastic! He shares his knowledge freely and pays careful attention when I swim to help to correct my strokes. He doesn’t hesitate to demonstrate and guide and even found extra resources for me to practise with. Definitely worth every cent spent here! Thanks Desmond!

One more Happy Fish outlet has just opened and is within walking distance to the existing one located next to Decathlon Chai Chee. Went to check out this new outlet on their open house this weekend and am truly impressed by their new facilities. Besides several indoor pools specially designed and built for babies & toddlers with clean, safe & warm water… there are lockers for safekeeping of personal belongings, drinks corner for taking a break, super clean washing area as well as cool shower & changing rooms. Too bad my girl is already 14, if not I will sure register for her to enjoy a wonderful experience :-)
