★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Two days ago, I was contacted by the Acquisition Manager for User Experience (UX) / User Interface (UI) role. The interview started off well initially, till she insulted my experience stating that I do not have sufficient UI experience compared to another candidates, who have attain the experience through SGUnited, and constantly suggesting that I should try the route of SGUnited.
Upon clarification, she mentioned that the UI experience she’s referring is project managing and client facing. In my knowledge of UX, this is an insult as UX designers are equipped with facilitation skills and client requirement skills.
Thereafter, I tried to elaborate my skill sets, but she cut me off by stating I do not have 4 years of experience in UIUX.
Frankly, the interview conducted was not professional as the Acquisition Manager did not have a clear knowledge of UI UX differences before turning down my application. Also, she could have rejected my application if 4 years of experience is the minimum requirement.
