Loved the kolo mee, fried wanton and sarawak laksa here. The wanton is very crispy and no oily taste. The kolo mee is abit soggy today but still tastes nice! Not forgetting to mention the nice aroma of Laksa broth with the shredded egg. Yums! ???

A place for my wife to get her Sarawak comfort food. The Sarawak Laksa is quite authentic but the quality varies, most of the times are good but there was once the laksa soup tasted hollow and feel like they did not put enough spices. The laksa is not the typical singaporean laksa with curry and coconut milk, so some people might not be used to it. Kolo Noodle, the noodle does taste like what we had in Kuching. The gravy or condiment are slightly different but enough to satisfy our craving for Sarawak hawker food! Overall, if you want to try something that’s not so “typical” singaporean you can give it a shot, as I think they kind of nailed 70% of the Kuching flavour we like, especially the laksa. Otherwise, we found the food at other stalls were pretty good too!

Ordered the kolo mee ($3.50) and laksa ($5). In terms of taste, the kolo mee is quite spot on. The only problem is the noodle tasted "sticky" and "thick". Not too sure how to explain, but the type of texture you get from dry noodle instead of fresh noodle. Now I also fully understand that it's difficult (not to mention not cost effective) to get air flown Kuching fresh egg noodle in here hahaha. As for the laksa, I would say that the broth is slightly on the watery side, but I'll take it. Good enough to satisfy my craving. Would I recommend? Yes! Do come here if you're around the neighborhood! *Btw fun fact: There's no fried wanton in an authentic Sarawak kolo mee.

Ordered a Dry Sarawak Noodle ($4) and honestly felt a bit underwhelmed that this is the best Kolo Mee in the West as cited from many blogs. (I think it’s also another reason that made me have high expectations on this bowl of noodles). It’s a decent bowl of Kolo Mee with relatively generous ingredients (minced meat, Charsiew and wanton x3 pcs) but the noodles were clumped together and somehow didn’t absorb the taste of the sauce. Sauce was also not flavourful enough. Personally feel that if you wanna satisfy your Kolo Mee craving, this is a place you can come to but if you’re looking for more then give this place a miss!

Continuing where we left off, our quest for Sarawak Kolo Mee has landed us in Jurong West. This is a small little stall hidden away in a corner of the bustling Jurong West Hong Kah Point Market & Hawker Center. The menu was rather limited here with only white sauce Sarawak Noodle that comes in either the soup or dry version. This is a larger portion with ingredients like fried Wanton Skins, minced pork and slices of Char Siew. However, the flavour was not intense enough be it the noodle or the minced pork as it lacked the aroma of the fried pork lard was lacking. Furthermore, the texture of the noodle was a bit overcooked and soggy. Sarawak Laksa broth taste was tangy with light hints of coconut milk flavours. Bee Hoon is accompanied by ingredients filled with shredded chicken, prawns, and thin layers of egg. The taste of Sarawak Laksa is acceptable and ordinary, however, not to die for. We went there with high hopes but left with disappointments.

Went JJ during lunch hour on a weekday. No crowd/queue, but might be due to Covid situation. The wanton not worth the $3 as the meat is too little, but I guess that's the standard portion. Laksa wise just normal and expected, too little soup but kolo mee is one of the better ones in Singapore. The noodles texture is very good and blending with the pork oil crunchiness, it's perfect! Will definitely come back again but only for the kolo mee.

Tried it a few days ago. The price of a kolo mee is $4 for small and $5 for big. They also have Sarawak Laksa. Small is $5 and big is $6. They have the usual fried wanton. We ordered one kolo mee and one Sarawak Laksa. Kolo Mee It is up to standard with the standard requirement of chewy and bouncy noodles, tasty minced meat with sprinkle of crunchy fried pork lard. There are pieces of okay char siew and 2 fried wanton. The char siew is the typical Sarawak char siew where it is red and not too fatty and not charred. I prefer the hong kong stype of char siew. However, if you are looking for authenticity then this is it :). Sarawak Laksa It comes with thin bee hoon only. On top of the usual taugeh, prawns and shredded chicken, It is accompanied with thinly fried eggs slices. Interesting combination that complement the bee hong well.

Order #1 small bowl @ $4 + $1 (extra char siew)... yummy to the max!! The chilli is spicy and the sauce is excellent.. the tangy noodle is to my liking! I will be back for more.. full of ingredients.. so worthwhile.. finally found a sarawak noodle that is so good in the west. Hope those who like Sarawak noodle can come and try it out!
