โ โ โ โ โ Made a pre-order for the bak kwa the day before and collected them the next day. Collection was fast if you made a pre-order and payment is by cash only.
Depending on your personal tastes and preferences, I found the bak kwa slices too thick (about twice the thickness of bak kwa from other brands) and dry and not charred enough. The pineapple bak kwa has an interesting taste though compared to other brands.

โ โ โ โ โ Oh my. So lucky I didnโt have to queue for this via GroupBuy. Definitely not worth the queue nor worth the money. For those who think this is good, please try the mainstream Bak Kwa like Fragrance and Bee Cheng Hiang at least once. Even luncheon meat is better than this.
Now I know why only can last three days. No one wants to eat after first bite. Cook fried rice also cannot. Jialat.
Would have traded my 4 thick slices for 20 cans of Maling Luncheon meat any day.
To those who failed to try this. GroupBuy is pretty awesome, they saved my time. If you donโt believe this review, you go buy from them and after you try, remember to mark this review as helpful.

โ โ โ โ โ Second visit today, no queue at 930am. Placed our orders, went for breakfast and returned at 955am, orders packed and ready. Some customers started coming in as we left. I would say its very organized now and products are still maintained at daily grilled. Opened and tested pineapple bak kwa, didn't disappoint, as delicious as before. Perhaps is a personal preference towards savory flavor of tangy sweet and salty, the pineapple bak kwa is definitely my favorite now.
25 January 2019
tasted the test samples before purchase, loved the royal bak kwa, which was tender, thick and well balanced in flavor. bought chilli royal, royal and pineapple. overall, the 8 hours queue was worth it, as long as family and friends likes it. made friends during the wait too!

โ โ โ โ โ Edit for 28 Jan 2022 CNY: All Bak kwa are sold out! Do not bother coming!
Their Pineapple Bak Kwa is the best Bak Kwa Iโve ever eaten. Soft, tender and full of flavour!
Come early during CNY period (+-1 month) at around 10am before they open at 11am. You will need to take orders first before collecting the next day.
Edit: reducing a star due to your boomer-ish ordering system. Itโs 2022 and you canโt order via phone, online, and you canโt even pay by PayLah! etc. Even coming down on 2 days to buy Bak kwa is outright backdated. No thought for consumers at all. Totally unacceptable.

โ โ โ โ โ One of the lousiest bak Kwa I have eaten. Order 4 x 500g via group buy for Chinese new year. Yet the bak Kwa is overly dry and crumbly. Seems very very under cooked. Photo is after I air fried for 15mins yet it still look so bad.
Gave it 1 star for the taste. The taste is not too bad but the texture does not live up to the hype and queue.
Do not bother to go queue or pay for this bak Kwa. Maybe an issue due to the demand during Chinese new year but at the minimum some QC must be done.

โ โ โ โ โ This is the only BBQ pork (Bak Kua) I like. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, it was since last year, the ordering system has changed.
You need to go early (kind of before 10am or earlier) to queue to get a number, put in your order and collect on next day.
Hope they will do it online ordering soon...

โ โ โ โ โ No queue this year.
2nd year buying from them but 2022 seems like a quiet year. Last year the pineapple Bak kwa was sold out when I pop by around 4 pm with no pre order. This year they have plenty. I took one star away because as I was waiting in line for awhile , a woman came along and the young counter girl was serving a lady before but after the lady was done paying, she skipped me and ask to help the woman behind me.
I donโt know what with this young girl but maybe the woman behind had an order sheet with her.
But she could simply and politely asked me to hang on for awhile before serving the woman with an order.
But the young teenage guy next to her was helpful and polite with my purchase.
So I went away happy after getting some to give away.
If there a 3.5 star I would rate it that.

โ โ โ โ โ With the Chinese New Year season to arrive soon, decided to head over to Kembangan to purchase some Kim Peng Hiang BBQ Pork that Empress Dowager had not enjoyed for some time since their last branch outlet at Pearl Centre closed with the demolition of the building. One thing good about Kim Peng Hiang is that they do not raise prices over the Chinese New Year period, unlike some less scrupulous and infamous stores in the Chinatown district.
Seeing some 1, 2 and 3 star reviews on the Google review page, there was some worry about the drop in quality. However, there was some relief when it turned out the low scoring reviews were from those not willing to queue (Obnoxious people who feel that queueing is beneath their status), those who only want to purchase via a click (Lazy people hiding behind the guise of pandemic Safe Management Measures), and those sour grapes not willing to work within the arrangements of the seller (Self-centred people who insist that everything must be done only at their convenience). Such people who never made the effort to head on down but made the effort to give negative reviews are just poor pathetic whiners.
The shop does not do phone call orders and the shop does not sell online nor delivery, anywhere.
To make a purchase during this CNY season, it is a 2-day arrangement.
1) On Day 1, arrive by 7:30am to join the queue to get an order form. Queue position #100 is usually reached by this time.
2) About 100 to 200 forms are given out each day. The number depends on the available stock of the shop.
3) If one is standing in queue next to the traffic light crossing by the canal where the PCN is, that position is about #100 provided there are no groups hiding at the nearby coffeeshops while they send only one representative to the queue. Position #200 is about halfway down the PCN next to the canal towards Kembangan Station
4) The forms are given out around 9:30am-10am by the staff as they walk down the queue and hand them out individually. Each person is limited to one form only
5) Each person is limited to an order of 3kg of BBQ Pork with a limit of 1kg of BBQ Pineapple Pork with all the BBQ Pork prepacked and vacuum sealed in 500gm packs. This order limit may change depending on supply
6) Submit the form and the staff will collect the part of the form with one's name and contact number with a replication of one's order. The other half of the form is kept by the staff
7) On Day 2, the immediate next day, return between 1pm and 6pm to collect and pay for one's order with one's half of the form. No physical form, no pick up. Photograph of the other half of the form is not accepted
8 ) Payment is strictly by cash only
9) If picking up on Day 2 does not work for one, one make one's own arrangements for the pick up on Day 2 with the actual physical half of the form.
10) One may not make an order today and request for pick up on another day of one's convenience such as 2 days later or 1 week later. Otherwise, return after Day 7 of Chinese New Year where there will be no queues or order limitations.
