pretty decent joint, affordable side dishes and bites for alcoholic drinks. service + happy hours appreciated. could be a tad expensive if you are just going for food-only and measuring against quality. In the end, I’d always support an honest business trying to find its formula! best wishes

I’m always searching for new places to try and this was one of them. When I saw the aburi don, I immediately texted my food buddy saying that we should try this place. The portion is small but I think it’s just nice because it’s might be overwhelming if the portion was bigger although I did prefer the aburi sake to be a little more thicker. I was a little upset when the staff didn’t tell me there’s a happy hour promotion where we get 20% off for orders placed within happy hours. I was there before happy hour ends but was waiting for my partner to arrive so I didn’t place any order even thou I already know what we will be ordering.

Saw this place featured in an article and decided to try out the Chirashi bowls. Had the mentaiko salmon bowl ($28), mountain of salmon on rice with beautifully torched pieces. Unassuming environment but friendly service and good weekday deals too! Many other items too on the menu, will be back!

Staffs were extremely careful, particular and helpful. They exchanged the dirty cup of tea and addressed the missing ingredient in the dish without us having to point it out. All the izakaya-type dishes we ordered were magnificent. My personal favourite is the grilled squid that was fresh and sufficiently grilled to bring out the sumptuous aroma. Highly recommended! Order before 7pm for 20% happy hour discount!

We went for dinner and the restaurant was half filled. There was no ambience in the restaurant. The lone female service staff was friendly though. The salmon aburi bowl was tasty, with small cuts of salmon belly and salmon. This and the chirashi dons - there is more rice to fish (to create the dome to make nice pics), & the overall balance was off - the meal was too filling, or u end up wasting rice. Low points for this. Quite pricey for an average experience.

They served with nice sashimi plating and fresh ingredients. For sashimi lovers, I will recommend this shop but quite pricey for their menu.

Kotobuki ε―Ώ Visited this Japanese restaurant after three years with disappointment. Ordered Saba Shioyaki set (S$21 before tax and service charge). The Saba was very pathetic, seemed like half of a thin fish. There was also no pickled radish. It was noisy like market during lunch time.

We were there for lunch and the set menu prices were reasonable and there were many varieties. We ordered the sashimi set - main course with sashimi. Price was $28/set on average. Portion of the food would consider big if you are a small eater. The restaurant was almost full during lunch hour. The staff was friendly despite being very busy. Will return again to try other set.
